MCT:August 20, 2008One of the worst movies made this year. I mean the tag line is enough not to watch this. "Not everyone gets lucky on prom night." OOOOOOOOOO! What creativity. *Note the harsh sarcasm* And I mean the creepy psycho stalker killer dude isn't even that menacing. Overall, the crappiest movie of the year, in my opinion.

This actually has a lot going for it. It's got a good budget, a great setting, some decent talent, and some pretty good source material. There's only one problem: it's a slasher movie, and they cut the blood out of it, rendering it entirely pointless. Nobody goes to slashers for a dazzling plot and heart-pounding suspense, and you won't find either here, unless you've never, ever seen a horror film in your entire life. Or you find lamps terrifying. The unrated DVD is no better, so leave this neutered embarrassment for the kiddies.

MCT:August 19, 2008So-so made for teens thriller. Johnathon Schaech plays psycho really well but Brittany Snow's character has to be the weakest, most useless "heroine" ever in the history of thrillers.
And what about that title? Shame on the makers for using the name of a semi-classic slasher from when people knew how to make them.
Couldn't they have just called it 'Terror At the Prom' or 'Prom Nightmare'? -

MCT:August 17, 2008when i first heard bout this on theaters, i wasnt too thrilled to seeing it. i decided to go & see it anyway. man, i have to tell ya that i really liked this movie alot. it was filled with heart pumping suspense, scares & entertainment. i was shocked from start to finish. i also thought that the killer was so brutal by killing his victims. man, it wasnt wat i was expecting at all. it was way better than i thought it would turn out. i thought it was great horror movie for a pg-13 rating. it almost came close to r-rated i think. i heard there making a unrated version so that might jsut make it look like that. anyway i cant wait for this to come out on dvd. i will most definity get it. i think everyone should by it also. i also think everyone needs to add this to their horror movie collection. it definitly deserves to be there.

This has to be one of the most rubbish films I have ever seen.
I couldn't get attached to any of the characters at all. However, this may have been a good thing because most of them died anyway.
Kill, stalk, kill, stalk, kill, stalk, stalk, kill.
Pretty much this piece of rubbish summed up in one sentence. -

MCT:August 15, 2008What I loved about this movie is that it was plain and simple. Nowadays, horror flicks have to have mega twists in them to be considered interesting, but Prom Night brought me back to the "classic" for lack of a better word teenage horror flicks of the 90's, like "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Scream." It gets major props for going back to the basics!

Not too scary at all and I took some issues with a couple technical things. The bad guy was the most complicated and rewarding character there, in my humble opinion.

This was a horror movie that could have been alot better if they would have done it more scary , better acting and not so predictable as it was. Then it would have been a superb flick but still with all these bad things its actually watchable in my opinion. I have seen worse movies in my days so to speak.

wow, everything is so magical like prom... the killer somehow just slips into shadows and every death is just comical. Nothing really redeemable minus some people are good-looking, but then again a majority of them have really funky looking faces, not exactly my fave kind of horror, plus there's hardly any gore for a slasher, what a disappointment

Not a good film...its weird and fake
the music is redicilous and not adaptated to the movie...the performances were poor and the ending is gigantic stupid
The only thing i like about this movie its theres not a lot of sex scenes... -

This is by far the worst film of 2008. First of all if you're gonna make a horror flick make damn sure it'll be at least Rated R because a horror flick without the rated R is like an iced tea without ice. This movie calls itself a horror flick but there's little amount of gore and blood. This should be more in the line of "Teen kween melodramatic mumbo jumbo" because its not scary at all.
The serial killer is very unconvincing, the actors gave cardboard performances, the script and the dialog is piss poor, they used almost every tired horror cliché in the book and the attempts at suspense and thrills were so lame, halfway into the film I'd just wish the film be over but since every avid film goer like me, we are supposed to finish it all the way through so you can imagine my disgust when it ended so abruptly and that was that.
I wish I could take back the lost 90 minutes of my time.

Don't waste your time.Useless not scary, bloodless and boring.Made be teens for teens who are too scared to watch real scary movies.

MCT:August 2, 2008If the remake was lame, you can imagine now how this film is.... a completely awful movie!!!
This is not a remake of the 1980 film Prom Night, this is like a sequel a very stupid sequel. The story is poor and ridicolous, in the film we see a bucn of teenager talking about stupid thigs in the whole movie.
What a lack of suspense!!!! this film has not thriller, scary or suspense moments and the most important it has not gore, at least the original film was rated R but this, this is a PG-13, WTF????
Why to remake a movie if it will be worst than the original? -
El mayor mérito es que te mantiene en suspenso hasta el final y además te hace saltar de la cama cada cierto rato.

i know, i know - I'm terrible...I haven't been the MOVIE kind but this was the only interesting one I have ever seen so far!
If you ask me for my honest opinion - I wouldn't have a clue as to what to say about the Movie...I loved it, I have never screamed any louder than that night! -
just the usual horror movie.
in sequence what will/should happen.
it's just that its ending is so simple. -

With this movie let me start by saying it doesn't make to much sense to come up with a PG-13 remake of an R-Rated slasher film besides the story was different from the original not in a good way.This film fails to be scary & not suspenseful enough with a killer that wasn't so convincing playing this role.This is one of the worst horror films to hit theaters & to make it worst is predictable from the beginning.Hardly any blood or interesting death scenes.
