Anything but a wrong number, this frightener directed by Robert Englund ("Freddy Krueger" from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies) packs loads of chills into its compact running time. When a repressed...( read more

Definately not to be taken very seriously - entertaining nonsense that compels you to watch its cheesy, stereotyped hero, heroine and villian - stricktly for laughs. If you want to see someone attacked by an evil oven, a posessed freezer and zombies appear in the film "It`s a wonderful life"(!) this is the film for you!
This one is one of the better classic horror flicks about there. I watched it again last night ON Demand. There's a sequel I think I'll check out tonight.
Really bad actually. A guy calls a 900 number which is run by some satanic being. I'm just going to stop there.
This is the reason why Robert Englund should stick to acting and not directing. The story, which is more or less "Carrie" all over again, is a complete mess and far too jokey to deliver any scares.
This was silly as hell, and the eventual revenge scenes were pretty disappointing, as at least three of the kills took place off camera.
Pass.
Directed by Freddy Krueger, it's just what I remember bad 80's horror to be. Dated cheesiness at 2 in the morning. Had forgotten it starred the kid who was also Evil Ed in Fright Night.
One of my favorite movies to watch...Directed by Robert Englund and filled with excellent lighting and gory fun.
One of the worst horror films of the late 1980's with no plot, bad writing, and worst acting.
Don't bother.
Funny film with a religious undertone, this movie is a classic 80s horror gem. While the dialogue lacks alittle, the special effects and ridiculousness of the story makes it a joy to watch.
classic, gotta love the way movies and horror have changed throu out the years, from the early 1900's throu to today,

I think this movie had a great storyline and I like Stephen Geoffreys..plus my idol Robert Englund directed this so i'm a fan of this flick.
I love the spider scene. I wonder if it is just coincendence his nickname is Evil in Fright Night also.
Ah, Robert Englund's directorial debut. What can we say about it? Well, Stephen Geoffreys (he of the strange screen presence, co-star of Fright Night) is quite good as the kid who turns into the monster but little else works in this standard horror potboiler. It's not that bad, though, and if you haven't seen it (and you're a horror movie fan) you should check it out at least once.
Stephen Geoffreys was great as Evil Ed in FRIGHT NIGHT. But as it is with many up and coming stars, when they asked him to do FRIGHT NIGHT 2 he turned down the chance to play second banana in THAT film to be the star of his own film: 976-EVIL. Both FRIGHT NIGHT 2 and 976-EVIL ended up sucking. oh well.
I WANTED to like this movie cuz it was directed by Robert Englung (I'm a big fan) and starred Geoffreys...but it is a real B movie that should have been direct-to-video (I saw it in the theatres, believe it or not!) I've tryed watching it when they play on TV and everything is just so below par that I find myslef wincing. A pity really.
By the way, soon after this Stephen Geoffreys stopped mainstream acting and started making man-on-man porn. Who saw THAT coming?????
Pure cheese through and through, I can't see Stephen Geoffreys as anything more than 'Evil Ed' from Fright Night.
Directed by Robert Englund! There's an odd charm about this movie. I saw it quite a while ago and I think I've enjoyed the memory of it more than I enjoyed actually watching it. With a movie like that I usually go back and watch it and it surprisingly lives up to the pleasant memory. You would think that it wouldn't, but it does... I guess I should rewatch 976-Evil because, odds are, it will still be good.
