Pleasant and moving film. It is a little slow moving, but it fits in with the backwards North Carolina setting. Henry Thomas gives a surprisingly effective performance. He is sensitive, touching and fully convincing in the role.

This movie was very odd to start off with but I ended up LOVING it, the story is just amazing and grabs you and wont let go (as cheesy as that sounds)

Odd, yet somehow comforting. The characters are kind of stereotyped, but aren't we all? I love it! Good and Evil, awkward relationships, the decency of most humans, and a damn fine man.
