A frustrated artist decides to go along with his friend's crazy get-rich-quick scheme in this tale of crime and friendship. Tired of his boring day job as a bank teller, twenty-something Desmond (Andrew Keegan) agrees to take part in a wild plot conceived by his roommate Gideon (John Krasinski) to rob the bank where Desmond works. There's just one problem: Gideon bases his plan on all the bank robber films he's ever seen.

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"A New Wave turns out to be a movie that never really knows where it's going, or why."
‑ David Cornelius, DVDTalk.com
"I hereby declare a moratorium on Reservoir Dogs references, explicit or implied, in all movies. Forever."
‑ Christopher Null, Filmcritic.com
"It loses its way somewhere along the line and only finds it again in the last twenty minutes."
‑ Mark R. Leeper, rec.arts.movies.reviews
"It's a minor film; one that doesn't embarrass itself even after it stumbles."
‑ Dennis Schwartz, Ozus' World Movie Reviews
"Instructive, but for reasons its makers won't like: it shows the difference that a good script and capable cinematography can make, as this film, sadly, has neither."
‑ Brian Webster, Apollo Guide
"A quirky indie thriller."
‑ Phil Hall, Film Threat
