Sam Raimi offers up a very well paced thriller that is reminiscent of Fargo. This is the story of smart/good people doing stupid/evil things. Paxton and Thornton play brothers that find a huge stash of money. Of course the origin and existence of the money creates conflict betwee...( read more)n those involved. Like Shallow Grave the film plays on role reversal. Those most eager to take the money soon regret their decision, and those most against taking it become the greedy manipulators. Thornton and Paxton have a genuine brotherly relationship going on. Fonda's Lady MacBeth type role is excellent, and makes you wish we still saw more of the actress. It has some nice twists, plans go awry and some difficult morals to swallow.

A juicy thrilla from Sam Raimi. Lovin the script and one of Billy Bob's best performances to date. This movie just balls on multiple levels.

The poor depiction of characters makes the movie very boring.

Loved it. In my opinion the absolute best Sam Raimi film. A perfectly written story about greed and how money can manipulate people. Raimi's direction was top notch, and this all star cast was at it's best.

A simple plot, complicated brilliantly on purpose. The cast is excellent, and the suspense is unbelievable. May start slow, but give it time and will leave you reflecting about your intentions and aspirations.

One of the most taut thrillers of all time. The writing is tight and strong, the direction is masterful, the music haunting, and the acting brilliant. The story is one of familiarity (o a degree), but then fips it on its head and adds lots of great twists and turns.
