Robert Wise directed this made-for-TV movie based on an unproduced screenplay by legendary writer Rod Serling. Abel Shaddick (Peter Falk) is the owner of a delicatessen in a small upstate New York community. The elderly Abel has no family to watch over him except his nephew (Andrew McCarthy), and when the nephew is put in charge of watching a boy from the inner city (Aaron Meeks), he passes the responsibility over to Abel.
