Very underrated and underappreciated WWII infantry platoon action movie, although the movie is more concerned with the individual soldier than the battlefield itself. Profoundly thought-provoking with an underlying anti-war message.

Low budget war movie, told simply and powerfully. One of the best WW2 movies made.
