Marty Kantrowitz: Who is he? Pearl Kantrowitz: You don't know him. Marty Kantrowitz: Well what's his name? Pearl Kantrowitz: Walker. Marty Kantrowitz: What's his FIRST name? Pearl Kantrowitz: That IS his first name. Marty Kantrowitz: Well then what's his last name? Pearl Kantrowitz: Jerome. Marty Kantrowitz: Walker Jerome. Does he realize it's backwards? What's he do? Pearl Kantrowitz: He's a salesman. Marty Kantrowitz: [laughs] A salesman, that's great. What does he sell? Pearl Kantrowitz: Blouses. Marty Kantrowitz: Blouses? [pauses, then looks shocked] Marty Kantrowitz: He's the blouseman. You're screwing the blouseman. Jesus, Pearl, why not screw the dressman? At least then you'd get a whole outfit.
Really disappointed with this film. Viggo Mortensen's performance was nothing special. I also expected more from Diane Lane. Viggo also looked really bad with his blonde hair and sideburns. I know it shouldn't be about the actors looks but he's a good looking guy and his hair just didn't suit him. The plot was nothing special either. To be honest I thought her husband was better looking and a nicer guy. I don't think I'd recommend this film. I didn't enjoy it at all. It was a struggle for me not to switch it off.
Unassuming film worth watching. In the summer of 1969, the time of the moon landing and Woodstock, Pearl is on holiday with her TV repairman hunky husband, daughter and son when she meets with a blouse salesman who helps her recapture the love and excitement in her life that she lost being a young mother. Very plausible and a great relief from the usual teen love stuff - Diana Lane shows that although we may get older none of us have lost that passion for new love and the excitement it brings into our day to day lives.
This is a really good movie. You can feel the characters inner struggles and the plot just pulls you in. Anna Paquin is really good as the teenage daughter who sneaks out of the house to see Woodstock only to make a shocking discovery.
I love this movie because it is about a woman who found herself in a life she fell into. She meets a man who reminds her of of who she wanted to be...of feelings she forgot she had. Watch this film with an open mind and an open heart.
I admit I only rented this movie to see Viggo's butt. LOL. Not a very interested movie beyond that. Seems like Diane Lane likes roles where she plays a wife who cheats on her spouse?
this movie is sooo romantic. and viggo mortensen is so hot! and the music works so good. i can relate to it even though im not a lot like the people in teh story. the movie was really relaistic though! i made my mom buy me this movie.
