In terms of plot, lets face it, its pretty basic. If you saw the trailer, you know the plot. But what makes this movie great are the one liners. So if you like quick wit and just really want to laugh this is a good movie to go see. Its not too gratuitous and over the top, and it doesn't push so hard to be funny. Some movies just try to hard, but the basic plot and classic one liners make this movie entertaining. If you just want to get out of the house and go laugh with your friends this is the perfect movie for you. Especially if you are about to go to college or are in college. I think that everyone can relate to this movie and you should see it if you want to be entertained.
Unoriginal plot and shouldn't have been funny but it was except that guy with the mustache that delivered to the college then joined, he was one of the dumbest characters I've ever seen.
At a time when the dearth of good ideas in Hollywood is declaimed louder than ever, it?s a minor tragedy when a good idea does come along and the resulting movie fails to do it justice.
In the hands of the Weitz brothers, or John Landis in his prime, a cracking teen comedy might have been mined from a bunch of affable losers bucking the system by founding a fake college when the real thing gives them the bird. And with a subtext of self-affirmation and a dig at the American higher education system as part-rich-kid?s holiday camp/part-Darwinian training ground for the job market, it might have carried a useful message, too.
Instead, Accepted goes for cheap yucks, stereotyped characters and a feeble plot so full of holes you could strain spaghetti through it. Of course, all of that would be ? ahem ? academic if the laughs were up to scratch. Sadly, the likeable young cast of mostly unknowns is left to fire off would-be zingers that fail to fly. For all that, it?s not a total bust. Long is always goofily charming, Jonah Hill is good value as the put-upon, nerdy fatso, and Lewis Black is a hoot as the deadbeat principal dispensing dyspeptic life lessons to the adoring student body like a cantankerous, boozy Buddha.
Lewis Black and "Ask Me About My Weiner!!!" are the only 2 good things to come away from this movie.
I totally agree with the message of the movie; that the pressure of going to college should not be the end-all of your life and if you do go, it should be for something you truly want to do, not something that you will be miserable doing, but will make $$ for doing it. Completely agreed and I am actually one of those people. What I hated is the fact that in the movie, these people that this ideology personifies are shown as slackers, drug dealers, drug users, and borderline retards. There are plenty of intelligent people (like myself I like to think) that don't subscribe to that criteria and just don't fit into the stereotypical academia "box" that everyone is presumably supposed to fit into.
This movie is about a High-school senior Bartleby "B" Gaines is on his way to scoring eight out of eight rejection letters from colleges--which isn't going to go over big with Mom and Dad. So, he made up a Fake College called South Harmon Institute of Technology.Then.....you'll know the rest when you watch it!
This movie was so funny and so cool. I f that was true I would be amazed. I love It! This is such a must - seee movie!
An interesting premise for a film which works very well. The characters are loveable and you can empathise with the kids who were not accepted anywhere else. It gets a bit corny towards the end but that's what has to be expected.
One of my all time favorite movies. It just kept me laughing throughout the movie and the acting was great. Blake Lively is one of the hottest chicks I've seen as well. But Justin Long just became one of my favorite actors. He's great in every movie he's been in.
The idea of a college run by students for students who don't fit in in to the more "prestigious" colleges is genius, and thankfully in focussing on that and the pride in being different this film is really good. Sadly it does still fall down with a predictable love story and some scattered cliches, not to mention failing to really make the most of such a prospect. Still an entertaining and worthy watch though.

Talking about rejection, these kids definitely gone through it many times. Finally, a place that accepts them and allow them the freedom they wanted. Who ever said that just because they don't follow academic subjects like every other school, they are not learning? They are! :D
This is one of the most rediculous film that i've ever seen in my life, or maybe in this planet. It's so unture and full of lies. the only thing good about this movie is, it's funny. It's not even a story. I have no idea why ppl actually spend money on this film. But anyway, almost every Justin Long movie is rideculous, so it's not that shock.
this movie made me laugh really really hard. i love the story and i could totally relate to Bartleby's problems. so yeah, it was hilarious, the actors were believable and it story was fairly unique. loved it.
