The sequel has a few weak spots but Jim Carrey makes up for it with his trademark brand of humor.

This was not needed and totally useless.the plot is ok but Carrey is just so over the top and insane its not that funny anymore.the humour has become very childish and silly with obvious double takes and pratfalls paving the way. There's nothing here that is actually funny, it ju...( read more)st seems very forced and way too unbelieveable, almost comic book crazy. The original had touches of that but it was still based within the walls of reality somewhat, this is just nuts.

Jim Carrey isn't someone to do a lot of sequels. I wonder if it was due to this that he decided to develop that viewpoint.

I was actually looking forward to this one too, since I found the first to be an enjoyable comedy. Not groundbreaking but definitely had potential. I guess ...( read more)I liked that one better due to its darker tones and for it being centered more for adults. But, as it often goes for sequels, the demands for money over story won out and thus the jokes are more toilet humor based along with sex jokes here and there. Seeing a man escape a fake rhino and having it be confused for that rhino giving birth? Yeah... let's just move on shall we?

I admit, there was one thing I laughed at and that was the references to Uncle Pennybags (or the Monopoly guy). As a kid, it was one of my favorite board games (still is high up on my list) and it was nice to have something half-way clever like that for a youngster to understand.

One of my other biggest criticisms about the film is that it uses the "protagonist goes overseas in sequel" cliche. Sometimes it works, but here, I don't get it. You think one or two adventures in America is enough? You think you had tapped that well dry? Oh well, I should be glad the sequel wasn't set in Australia. Bad accents abound then, not what my country needs (we didn't need Kangaroo Jack either. Damn you producers...)

To sum up, a disappointing sequel with a lot of potential. They got the original actor, yet it still managed to fail. Don't think I'll be seeing the third, either. That just might be worse than this.

First Jim Carrey movie I ever watched and I knew I loved 'im, it's beyond stupid but that's the point. If you don't like Jim Carrey's extravagant style of comedy you're obviously not going to like it, but i do so i...( read more) loved it "spank you very much".
