Adam Had Four Sons
At the turn of the century, a governess cares for the four motherless sons of an American businessman. The governess is played by Ingrid Bergman in only her second American film. After a separation from the family for a number of years, she returns and immediately is embroiled in a battle with Susan Hayward, who plays the conniving fiancee of one of the boys. Based on a novel by Charles Bonner, this is more a character study of a family in crisis as this young woman divides and nearly destroys the family with jealousy and hatred.

Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"...the high sleaze quotient ensures that Adam Had Four Sons remains engrossing enough to warrant a recommendation."
