In keeping with the holiday spirit, the judge gives Davey one last chance at redemption-spend the holiday performing community service as the assistant referee for the youth basketball league or go to jail. Davey thinks he's gotten off easy until he meets Whitey Duvall, the eccentric, elf-like head referee. The mismatch between Whitey's good heart and never-ending optimism and Davey's constant troublemaking soon have them both wondering if going to jail wouldn't have been easier! In this new, full-length animated feature about basketball, old girlfriends, holiday spirits, and the mall, Adam Sandler voices the three lead characters of Whitey, Davey, and Whitey's fraternal twin sister Eleanore!

I only saw about 15 minutes of this, and it was enough. I love Adam Sandler, but this movie was just annoying. "Whitey's" voice drove me over the edge.

I had to say this was worring me but when i watched it I could not believe how cute it honestly was.

    Hilarious all the way through!

I love Sandler and I really tried to make it through this movie, but the voices were so annoying...I just could not do it!

Amusing throughout. Featuring catchy songs, snappy gags, and humourous quips, this is much better than I thought it was going to be.

Adam Sandler has delivered a different, yet nonetheless worthwhile animation.

Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

I'd prefer to think of Sandler in Punch-Drunk Love, the one good movie of the three he did this year. full review

Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times

All this is rendered with pedestrian animation, deadly dialogue, and a general air of indifference, as if the whole thing was the result of a late-night bet, or a joke gone horribly wrong. full review

Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

If there was ever a movie where the upbeat ending feels like a copout, this is the one. full review

Liam Lacey, Globe and Mail

There is something poignant about being 'the only kid in town without a Christmas tree.' Too bad you have to dig through so much stinky stuff to get to it. full review

Not the worst movie that I've ever seen, but it sucked!! I knew it was going to be corny, I mean it is an animated holiday flick that is obviously geared towards little kids. But still, this movie has such a blisteringly stupid plot with an ending so predictable that you just might demand your money back!
