Critic Reviews from Rotten Tomatoes

"[It takes] on not only a classic piece of literature but also one of the most iconic films in the history of moviemaking, a challenge that debut feature writer-director Hugh Gross simply doesn't have the resources or imagination to match."
‑ Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times
"Writer-director Hugh Gross' wooden if well-meaning indie has its charms, but may leave over-imaginative tots feeling patronized rather than captivated."
‑ Justin Chang, Variety
"Sweet, but muddled postscript to Oz with mild suspense."
‑ Renee Schonfeld, Common Sense Media
