Thanks to my friend Mark I've got my hands on the copy of this brilliant movie. With a run time of only thirty minutes "Aftermath" will leave you feeling truly disgusted for watching it,but certainly you'll watch it again and again. This movie takes place in an autopsy room where t...( read more)here are two morticians slicing up bodies, removing organs and sewing the bodies back up again. One of them(Pep Tosar)decides to lock himself in a room with a female corpse. After cutting off her clothes he grabs a knife and really starts jamming it inside the dead woman's vagina. Then he has sex with the corpse. The film was shot in a mortuary of Barcelona. The special effects are extremely well-done and disgusting.Spanish director Nacho Cerda describes a meaning of "Aftermath":"The theme of it is about death, and I think people one way or another at one point in their lives, worry about death. They realize they are going to die, they are conscious of it,and some people may accept it,some people may not accept it".Highly recommended for all who have an iron stomach.Fans of extreme gore will love this!

Technically, it's an impressive piece of work and shows Cerda has some serious skill as a director as does the cinematographer, Christopher Baffa.
The film/short itself involves necrophilia and very little is left to the imagination as a demented coroner "spends time" with a rec...( read more)ently deceased woman. It lives up to its vile and disgusting reputation but it's really nothing more than another shocking-for-the-sake-of-being-shocking effort.
Cerda's next film/short Genesis fares MUCH better in my book.

2nd chapter in a trilogy, along with Awakening and Genesis. A 30 minute endurance test shot without dialogue. Female victim on the slab, locked door, a camera and your worst suspicions . The best part of this film is how realistic it looks. The beautifully filmed autopsies loo...( read more)k and sound incredibly real whle lovely classical musica accompanies.

The most beautifully shot and directed nasty, gross, disturbing film ever. Extremely nihilistic and horrifying. A great watch.

Whenever I hear about a "shocking" or "unbelievable" film on the internet or on Imdb I usually take a look and see what its about, this film is an example of one such instance. The film Aftermath was a short film made by Nacho Cerda in 1994. It was the second film made by Cerda i...( read more)n his directorial career. The film begins deep in the bowels of a Spanish morgue. In the morgue there is an autopsy-taking place, right before our very eyes. The film is devoid of any real dialogue and focuses on the use of graphic shocking imagery to make its point. The film starts with the average goings on in a morgue. The other morticians call it a day and leave one behind to finish up his work. This is when the film gets uncomfortably vile and disturbing.
The lone mortician who is left in the morgue begins fondling some of the corpses. Then rather quickly he turns his attention to the dead body of a young female who died in a car crash. The mortician apparently overcome by some twisted desire, proceeds to strip her naked and mutilate the young girl?s corpse. He then mounts the corpse and has sex with it, all the while taking pictures of himself in the act. The man then takes the girl?s heart home with him, blends it in a blender and then feeds it to his dog and calmly sits down to watch his TV.
This film is very realistic and the effects are sickening to say the least. The idea behind the film (according to the Director) was to convey the helplessness that our bodies face after we are dead. Since its release this film has been surrounded by a great deal of hype and is apparently very hard to find. This is due to its unflinchingly realistic unapologetic depiction of death, autopsy, corpse desecration, and necrophilia. I thought the film was well made (as disgusting as it sounds everything in this film seemed believable and realistic) but due to the disgusting subject matter I couldn?t really get into it, not really my bag.

An extremely graphic short film of human mortality and the desires of the flesh.

Necrophilic necropsy. You're supposed to film a real-looking sex scene in order to shock. Failure results when the female rubber dummy looks it. It has a cool little storyline good for the short's length and my eyes weren't aware of any so-called notable photography. Disappointing.
