It;s ok. Was cool to see that the champ was from my island...was sad to see that the champ was a scared cheater that had to resort to doing those things to win. Was also sad to see that being the champ, he was knocked down in one round...

It wasn't bad,,could've been better but the ending grabbed you ...great ending !! :) My favorite part was when she gave Shaw the spotlight and moved away from it ...and the touching ending of course :)

I'm not a fan of boxing, but I did quite enjoy this film. Meg Ryan was fabulous, as always, and Omar Epps was amazing. The supporting cast was great, and Tony Shalhoub as the pseudo-villain was interesting, but it worked. The ending isn't entirely believable for me, but I suppose that comes with the fact that it is a boxing film, and it's not too far off plausible.

Sweet. Loved the emotion in this flick, Epps delivers a raw dramatic gangster-type feel to the story, and Ryan balances it perfectly with a feminine touch. Good story. Great ending.

First, Meg Ryan is a heinously overrated actress. Stop constantly twisting your head when you speak, Meggie. Second, so the movie is about supposedly strong women rising in the world. Good. But then why is Meg so emotional in the movie?

Meg Ryan plays different from her normal good girl role here, but it doesn't quite fit her. This type of movie has been done a thousand times before, and has been done 999 times better. If you have seen one of those Rocky clones before, then you already know the plot. Skip it...

Good movie about a woman in a mans world. Jackie Kallen (Meg Ryan) she starts with one boxer. That she buy for 1 dollar in a bet about that she couldn`t fix it. She becomes a success but after a while she and the boxer don`t see eye to eye anymore. It looks like she isn`t in the fight anymore but are she really out numbered.

I thought this was a good flick. Had comedy & drama & boxing of course!

I love Meg Ryan it it was fun to see her in something besides the normal girlie chick flicks. I liked how she had a mind of her own, was opinionated & knew what she wanted. Her accent drove me crazy & some of her clothing ideas were biazzare.

Omar Epps was hot in this movie & I liked the relationship that was formed between him & Ryan. I think there could have been more fighting besides the brief second clips & the last fight scene.

Still worth the watch for the mood I was in! Just shows girls can be better than guys!!

Enjoyed it more than I thought i would. I read that it is closely based on a true story. So I take that to mean she was a really person but the plot was pretty much made up. It would have been a lot better if it had all been true. The acting is average. Meg Ryan did an alright job. Charles S. Dutton did a good job in the acting and the directing. Omar Epps was nothing special. I think this film is worth at least one watch. It isn't too bad and is fairly entertaining.

I really had my doubts about this one but she is the best. I adore Meg Ryan and everything she does she makes believeable.

Meg Ryan is one of my favorite actresses but I had a hard time believing her in this role...I think she overacted a little...but then I don't know what Jackie Kallen was like...overall the movie was ok...just not a boxing movie fan.

Good bit comedy, but filled drama in fight film with my one of favourite beautiful actresses, Meg Ryan. Interesting inspired tale by the life of Jackie Kallen, the most successful female manager in the world of boxing.

Not bad, entertaning movie, great fight sequences. Unfortunately a not so beautiful Meg Ryan, who shouldn't have change so radically her face as she was extremely beautiful before. But she, luckily, didn't loose her great acting and as usual convincing.

Not sure but I assume it isn't very good. It was held up in theatres for about three years. Not a good sign. The accent is annoying for sure.
