nominated for a record 14 oscars, this is truly one of the most important films in history. the first hour actually bored me incredibly and anne baxters performance was a little over the top, but bette davis and george sanders put in powerful performances and the final 80 minute... ...( read more )

All About Eve is full of great dialogue and incredible, incredible acting. However there were points that dragged and I found myself getting a bit bored. But it was that last 20 minutes that knocked me on my ass. Bette Davis was brilliant and as much as I hated her character, Ann... ...( read more )

Tremendous film-making. All about Eve is an all-round perfect film, terrific performances, magnificent script, brilliant direction and an air of timelessness about it.
This is the first time I have experienced a Bette Davis film and what a phenomenal actress, I couldn't imagine ... ...( read more )

Probably the greatest script ever written. Wonderful characters clearly detailed, and literary dialogue chewed on and spat out perfectly by each and every cast member. Literally everyone is perfect in their roles, even an early small role by Marilyn Monroe has her delivering two ... ...( read more )

Flawlessly executed drama, fabulous screenplay and acting. a picture formed by pure cynicism and tons of charm. Bette Davis and Anne Baxter are the theater's ultimate bitches. nice cameo by the beautiful Marilyn Monroe.

Along with Sunset Boulevard, this is one of the all time great classics which dares to take a look behind the curtain of Hollywood. The script is sharp and quick and provides a glaring look at the spotlight of fame. Bette Davis gives, in my opinion, her greatest performance here,... ...( read more )

Kinda convincing that this was nominated for 14 Oscars. Anne Baxter and Bette Davis were so good in this one, but both were nominated, thereby ruining either's chance at it. Plus, Marilyn Monroe and the guy who voiced Shere Khan are in it.

"All About Eve" is a great timeless tale of ambition, manipulation and betrayal, and certainly one of the best classics ever. Everything perfectly works in this movie: the direction is very precise and tight; dialogs are very acid and intelligent; Bette Davis, Anne Baxter, George... ...( read more )

No one could or can act like the great Better Davis..Today's so-called Hollywood stars should take courses in acting to see how it was done by Miss Davis..

14 Oscar nominations is quite a feat and All About Eve makes it look easy.

What makes All About Eve special is the stellar cast and incredible performance by Bette Davis, her meglomania, her bitterness was so believable and strangely likable, and in my oopinion completely outsho... ...( read more )

I like how this story can remain the same no matter in what sort of setting. I would love seeing a truly traditional modern updating of this.

Bette Davis is maybe the best reason for anyone to watch it, as well as the the excellent work by Manciewicz (co-writter of the script for Welles's "Citizen Kane").

Hollywood at it's knockdown, drag out "worst" -- in regard to the story itself. Fine film with some really great individual scenes.

Watched it last night; oh boy that Anne Baxter! The cameraman knew how to focus on those twinkles in her eyes; utterly devastating film, she is like J.R. Ewing in that she schemes and yet you still love her...
