Alone in the Dark, eh? Doesn't really leave much room for interpretation does it? How hard is it to make a film where someone (however briefly) is ALONE in the fucking DARK. Impossible, apparently.

The first act begins with the vague promise that maybe, just maybe, there could be a good film in here. Then an entire squad of gun-toting idiots turn up and cart our hero (who spends his time looking bewildered or lying down) off to the sun-filled forests of upstate New York. At this point any semblance of a plot falls on its arse and dies as our entourage (of at least 6 while we're here alone in the not-very-dark) get deservedly picked off as they try to mow down our spectral villain with guns. Yep, occultists fighting spooks with GUNS. Honestly, it's like they had a bullet-quota to meet.

There's some nonsense about witches, a lab (which is a cave, BTW) a dagger and...stuff. Oh, and our hero, during one of his frequent lying-the-fuck-down sessions, watches as someone else saves the day (okay, it's followed by the kind of attempt at an epilogue-twist which any and all involved should be ashamed of themselves for being party to but I was too busy watching Lance "Bullets Bounce off My Ass" Henriksen to really follow).

    Alone in the Dark indeed...

Well what can be said about this movie im not totally sure first its a stand alone movie and has nothing to do with the first one the story centers around a witch trying to take possession of a woman cause her grandfather long ago sold her soul to this witch and the guy that is trying to protect her played by Rick Yune who has visions and can sense when the witch is around. anyway the movie isnt a total loss just not gonna recommend it to anyone watch at your own risk. Dont be fooled either by the casting its a who's who of genre actors that arent in it enough to matter except for maybe Lance Henriksen
