From seeing the trailer I thought that Alvin and The Chipmunks was going to be a lot funnier, but I was disappointed when the film began to slump off near the end. Extremely cute and was worth watching, since I was such a fan of the cartoon when I was younger.
As a huge fan of the Chipmunks, these squeak squeaks stole the show from the otherwise bad acting in this movie. (Except for David Cross who was great.) It's too cute for words, and it WAS much better than I thought it would be, though its very predictable. I like the soundtrack.
I thought this movie was o.k. I didn't that it was great, but I didn't think it was bad either. I love that Christmas song, though, it's so cute. I'm really not sure which chipmunk was my favorite either, because all of them had admirable qualities. I thought it was funny and cute too how theodore kept having nightmares and wanted to sleep with Dav. I thought it was funny too when Theodore was stuck flying on the little truck, and then at the end he was like let's do it again. It was a cute movie.
This thing plays really straight: predictable and histrionic. David Cross makes the writing work and the CGI is pretty good, but I can't recommend this to anyone over the age of 7.
This was actually a very cute movie - I wasn't sure I'd like the live action mixed with animated but it was very well done.
Overall a fun movie & soundtrack too.
Jason Lee as Dave makes me so sad. However the chipmunks were so cute they made up for his severe lack of talent. God, you know your bad when a computer animated chipmunk has more talent than you.
wow i have just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a great movie 2 watch..this has got a good cast of actors/actressess throughout the movie...i think that the director of this Animation, Comedy, Kids & Family movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie because its really cute,funny n i think that jason lee (from the hit tv show my name is earl n the jay n silent bob movies) plays a good part throughout this movie n i think that cameron richardson is beautiful n sexxi n she plays a good part throughout this movie...n if u watch the credits something happens at the end of this movie..i think that justin long (from die hard 4:0 n dodge ball) is good as the voice as alvin..
You know you're getting that little bit older when you look at a film and think "I used to watch the cartoon as a kid" He he. I love this film. the chipmunks are so sweet (and Jason Lee aint too bad either).
This movie is based on TV cartoon series in 1980s. A struggling songwriter named David Seville (Jason Lee) adopted the 3 mischievous singing chipmunk brothers named, Alvin, Simon, & Theodore (Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, & Jesse McCartney).

I watched this today and I just thought it was great and very funny it was funny when the chipmunks went after the muffins in the basket when the man was walking and then when he went home he locked the chipmunks in the bin with out noing and then then he saw food in a bowl and then he saw the sauce bans moving and when he picked it up he couldnt see anything inside but then a couple of minutes after he heard something in the cuboard and when he opened it the chipmunks were there well when he caught them he threw them out in the rain but then they started to sing and because he liked their singing so much he let the chipmunks in is house and then he became friends with them and then the chipmunks also made a new hit single very good movie and very funny you will enjoy this movie if you like comedys.
This was an amazing modern take on Alvin and the Chipmunks. I enjoyed watching the TV series when I was little. I was thoroughly impressed and amused by this film.
I was expecting this to be a lame spin on the cartoon series of decades past (the 80's series I was most familiar with outside that damn X-Mas song), but it came out pretty well-glued. It was cute and sentimental in the right areas. David Cross (whom I enjoyed from Arrested Developement) did well in his role as the slimey and manipulative Ian. Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) also put on a good performance as Dave... a role I believed would be difficult to fill. It came out as a very enjoyable movie, all in all as you came out feeling for Alvin , Simon and Theodore along with Dave's struggles as a compositional artist. A great movie for a younger audience, but equally enjoyable for an older audience.
i enjoyed this film. i was a little apprehensive when i was going to watch it but thankfully i was proved wrong as this film is coooooooool. i love jason lee anyway and in this film hes great and the annimation and cheesy pop songs are great. this film is just great watch. watch it before you say no to it....
This Movie is So Awsome! Simon's My Favorite Chipmunk. Jason Lee Dose An OK Dave. David Cross Was Prettey Funny Playing An Evil Music Prodoucer. And I Love The CGI In This Movie. I Love This Movie...But The Plot Reminds Me Too Much Of ''Garfield: The Movie'' (Another Movie I Love), But I Still Love This Movie. Overall, This Movie Is Really Great.
Really cute movie. My kids loved it. They did a really good job of creating the chipmunks. I loved them when I was a kid, and it was great. I like Jason Lee, so I thought he did really well also.
First time i saw it, i thought the movie was so cute and funny.but i think about it over and over again, and i changed my mind.The movie is AWFUL.Not funny at all,except the chubby Theodore.
The chipmunk's voices is absolutely hurt to hear.i don't like their voices.This movie is a little bit wasting time.
Oh, and i've heard that there will be Chipmunks 2,is it right??oohh..i think i should bring tomatoes if my friends ask me to watch it.

This movie it's very interesting and about music mostly . The dierection of this film is Tom Hill . Its about 3 chipmunks and david sevil who discover this chipmunks in his house .
David helps to chipmunks for their songs and then ... .
