A classic with great acting.
From the first half hour I knew I would like this film. Always, the period of 16th-17th century fascinated me. Not so long ago but long enough. But this film was more. It made me see classical music and opera from a different perspective. The music of Bach,Beethoven and Mozart I ...( read more)
An interesting depiction of Mozart, I'm not a fan of classical music but this is an awesome movie and the music works so well in it.
As accessible as Mozart's music. A tremendously entertaining film. Not a great deal of subtext, but still worth raving about.
Didnt think i would like this movie, but after seeing it in school, i found it was really good
i really despised the guy who portrayed mozart! what kind of laughing is that? it is so freaking annoying!!!!!!!!
I was looking up best picture oscar winners. and I came across a few movies I'd never heard off including this. Well it's an epic tale of Mozart's life told by a jealous rival composer, who's been put in an asylum. The acting was great as well as the production, and the directing...( read more)
One of the few films where I think the Theatrical release was better than the Director's cut. An amazing movie all around.
No es que se trate de una historia desconocida pero lo que si podemos ver en esta peli es una gran puesta en escena y unas excelentes actuaciones, la recreación de la época es sencillamente maravillosa
I really love it, especially F Murray Abrahams performance and Tom Hulce, I just love it.. sometimes it feels a bit long.. but it is long.. and I always find something new to love about it, when I watch..
i dont know... ive never heard of it before... i googled it... its made in 1984... was ranked 53rd best american movie in 1998..
Uh, didn't like this. Maybe because I HAD to watch it for a class. The only thing I liked about this was the editing: sound and visual. I really didn't like the guy who played Amadeus and the chick who played his wife. They were annoying. They didn't have accents when others did....( read more)
Great storytelling. I liked this movie even when I watched it in 7'th grade music class.
spectacular performance by F Murray Abraham as the jealous enemy . carries the whole movie.
Watched in in Music Apperciation Class and Really Enjoy it Suprisingly!
What can I say about this movie that has not already been said by thousands of people over the course of three decades? There is something frightening about this film that makes you believe in good and evil, superiority and mediocrity, shadow and light and most of all blind know...( read more)
The best movie that I have ever seen!!! I wish that I could give it more than five stars!!!!!!!!
Even though it was a fantastical idea of Mozarts last days I still loved it.
This movie is the perfection on screen!
I saw this movie years ago when i was fool and i believe this movie was awkward and didnt understand any bit of it...
Years later..
I saw this movie again and i totally fall in love with this delighting movie...
The story is incredible,...( read more)
One of the best movies I've ever seen. The old Salieri (also played by Murray Abraham, which i couldn't believe at first!) is magnificent, and Tom Hulce deserved an Oscar just for his giggle.
fantastic. historically correct. he was the first ever pop (type) star of the time. beautiful music. tragic end to his life. all filmed in Prague i think, very beautiful old city. a must see film
A masterful acheivement in film. Also the sets and costumes are excellent.
It starts slow, but gets better and better as things go along. The scene where Salieri and Mozart write the Death Mass together was absolute on-screen magic. I highly recommend seeing this one if you have the stomach for its length.
Salieri is the strongest performer in his double role, magnificent music and ambientation
perfect cast emotion, nad development
An absolute masterpiece in film. Fantastic story, fantastic music, fantastic acting. One of my favorite films of all time. I could watch it every day.
one of the best films ever. i know every line of it, and i still want to see it over and over.
