American Wedding is exactly the type of ending that suits the American Pie trilogy. It's not like the typical TV sitcom where it's feel good and lacking on humor. The traditional gross out honest humor is still present. Unfortunately not all the characters are due to scheduling conflicts.
The directors do a good job of covering the absent characters by simply not mentioning them but there lack of presence is felt. Oz isn't present during Jim's speech with the best men. Michele is the only returning female lead. Even some of the returning characters play a smaller role. Kevin is almost not seen in most of the film. He serves very little important role and is more in the background. Finch and Stifler seem to be the lead story, at times more than the wedding itself. It does work to create a funny story.
The story is well wrapped up and that hopefully means that no additional and poorly conceived sequels are made. There seems to be three rules that follow in all of these films.
1) Jim does something bizarre sexual act that embarrasses him.
2) Stifler ingest some bodily excretion
3) Finch has sex with Stifler's Mom
Obviously they've hit Stifler with about every funny excretion. The only options left are blood, pus, or earwax. Rule #2 is going to be hard to follow. -
It was okay. The only thing that made it watchable was Stifler and his antics (especially in the closet with the grandma!)
-
not that good as the first three and what made lame was several character were missing which didn't made entertaining. Its lame.
-
It lacked half of the original cast that was in previous film, which was a shame. Continuing from its predecessor, American Pie 2, this film continues its quest for seriousness and does it perfectly. Stifler's given the bigger limelight here and he pulls it off brilliantly.

Sometimes, u can't stop laughing!
I also love the dance sequence in the gay nightclub. Steven Stifler is just amazing in it.
And when he eat a dog's poo, or fuck granma in the cupboard.
LMFAO
=))
Best of the series!
And the beautiful January Jones as Alyson Hannigan's sis was a great choice. I love that she finally chose Stifler. -
Not with some of the original cast, but this movie was crazy! Stifler was the best in this third movie! Crazy movie and so funny!

The American Pie series is a guilty pleasure of mine. The movies are ridiculous but I keep coming back for more. This time Jim and Michelle get married. Some memorable lines in this.

I couldn't believe that Stiffler came through in the end. I guess he's not such a dick after all. Who knew?

The "American Pie" movies have always been one of the more interesting movie contradictions: On one hand, they're too raunchy for most of their potential audience. On the other, they are at times too sickeningly sweet for the rest of their potential audience.
But that didn't stop the first two films from becoming hits. Nor has it stopped the third, "American Wedding," from using the same alternatingly sweet-and-sour formula.
Surprisingly, in some ways this one is the sweetest, most appealing of the three films. And not too surprisingly, it may be the raunchiest.
For example, the film contains the single funniest moment in the trilogy: a "dance-off" of sorts that may change the way you look at "Flashdance." It also contains the single most tasteless moment: a dog-doo gag that nearly ruins the movie.
The wedding referred to in the title is between Jim Levenstein (Jason Biggs) and his long-time sweetheart, Michelle Flaherty (Alyson Hannigan).
Among their friends and family, it's cause for celebration. Except for one person ? foul-mouthed and even fouler-behaving Steven Stifler (Seann William Scott), who hasn't been invited to the wedding. For obvious reasons. -
Again Great Movie, But It's The Last Good American Pie Movie What Comes After That Is All Porn, And Again Stifler's Mom, LoL
-
To complete the series of 4 best friend who leads a fun ride of adolescent and craziness, now its final. wedding!
I can't say many words for this one except, perfect!
it might be cheesy coming from someone like me (LOL), but i love American pie, and thanks for the Great final part!
8/10. -
While keeping the same innocent charm and sex jokes of the previous two, a wedding in American Pie seems to ruin the teenage sexual escapades of the gang, which quite frankly lets the movie down. Some funny bits, but compared to the first two, it's nothing

"Jim" (Jason Biggs) and the love of his life "Michelle" (Alyson Hannigan) are getting married, and some of the wacky cast from the previous "American Pie" movies are invited, except for "Stifler" (Seann William Scott).
This movie has the fewest funny scenes I have seen, and the most are near the start of the film. And those are only good enough for an out-loud chuckle at best.
The cast is quite comfortable, and work pretty well together. I never saw the other movies, so the characters didn't seem developed that well to me. I suggest you watch the first two movies to familiarize yourself the cast of characters.
The cast performances were fine, except Scott, who seemed pretty stiff and uncomfortable. I do believe that's the character however, but since I never saw the first movies in the series I don't know.
Biggs and Harrigan appeared to have the best chemistry and got some of the better laughs -- especially Harrigan. The others had a few laughs themselves.
The visuals were fair, nothing really spectacular. There were no special effects, mainly because they weren't required.
Again, if you haven't seen the first two movies, I suggest you skip this one. It might have been because I haven't seen the other movies that I didn't enjoy it. Or possibly it just didn't have enough laughs to make it a good comedy. -
"It's time for me to boom-boom with the bridesmaids, Finch-fucker. 'Cause I'm gonna hang out with my wang out, and rock out with my cock out"

"Love life, get paid, then get laid. That is the basic philosophy of... The Finch-meister!"
American Pie: The Wedding (known in America as American Wedding) was an inevitable event considering the box office success of its predecessors. The original two American Pie films were blueprint instances of contemporary American sex comedies: copiousness of profanity, nudity, sex references and plain lewd language...while still possessing an underlying poignancy. They weren't masterpieces at all, but in any case people could relate to the characters while reflecting on the rampant hormones of their teenage years. The first film examined teens enthusiastic to lose their virginity, the second film focused on college days, and now the third film explores some of these characters tying the knot. There never seems to be much point, does there?
The preceding American Pie films I didn't overly love despite a few laughs to be had. American Pie: The Wedding is the worst film in the series thus far. This third film is wholeheartedly superfluous. The studio got their box office profits, but this instalment makes the film as gross and vulgar as achievable...pushing things to maximum extremes in the faint hope of a laugh. However it fails quite unspeakably to the point that I was rarely laughing. In fact, the film is just plain sickening, repulsive and occasionally offensive! Half the original cast is missing for this film. At least some characters have finally grown up and moved on!
Jim (Biggs) and his girlfriend Michelle (Hannigan) have now been dating for a number of years. After college graduation, Jim proposes to Michelle. As the title would suggest, Michelle accepts and the wedding preparations commence. This thin plot is an excuse for a long string of pointless jokes. These gags frequently fail. It seems that the screenwriters have a clear idea that the audience desires more Stifler (Scott). Now Stifler has been promoted to a protagonist (obviously replacing Chris Klein as 'Oz') as he endlessly swears and desperately searches for sex. Throw in Finch (Thomas) and Kevin (Nicholas) as those present to support Jim in the lead up to his wedding, as well as Jim's sex-crazed father (Levy) who's there to make things more interesting (it seems).
Before the release of American Pie: The Wedding, the marketing tried to make us believe that this is the funniest "slice of pie" yet. Either they were amazing lyers, or the filmmakers are seriously self-deluded. What has become a supposed rites-of-passage trilogy initiated as a cunningly appealing amalgamation of gross-out comedy (sometimes amusing) and a credible set of characters. With disparaging predictability and mountains of clichés, the trilogy has devolved into this mess...effectively a remake of Meet the Parents/Meet the Fockers and Father of the Bride. It's a clichéd wedding affair we've seen billions of times before! But this time, it's been given a makeover to suit the modern sex comedy genre.
Worse yet, this instalment never seems like it actually accomplishes anything. These characters are more of the same. Finch is there to confess his love for Stifler's mother, Kevin is there to whinge his way through everything, Stifler is there to shag anything that moves, etc. And of course Levy as Jim's dad is going to make a few more allegedly funny situations created at the expense of Jim's embarrment. The final insult concerns Stifler...learning his lesson and starting to change his ways. Yet this seems thoroughly pointless because by the end of the movie he's still foul-mouthed and he still just yearns for sex. Of course, for this genre it's customary for these unnecessary sub-plots to be included. The script seems to go no-where. It's drenched in dispiriting amounts of conventions leading towards the predictable wedding that we all know will turn out okay. Every other aspect of the filmmaking is standard. Acting is fair, with the exception of Jason Biggs who sometimes seems very disjointed and uncoordinated.
Overall, American Pie: The Wedding takes things too far. It's only for you if you find the following things hilarious: eating dog poo, shagging a granny, dance off in a gay bar, etc. Bottom line: mildly entertaining with a good soundtrack, but wholly unnecessary. -
Just like the rest of the series, mediocre. Scott is funny, as always. But there's more to a comedy than sex jokes, although they're funny. american pie just feels like a big, long book of sex jokes
-
i love that stiffler got alll cute
i hated how it didnt have the other couple it didnt even explain at all! -
Third in the trilogy of the gang from East Lake is not nearly as sweet for a rthird helping of pie. Hannigan and Biggs save it though, as the couple about to be married.
-
A fitting conclusion to the thrilogy. The boys are getting more mature, yet still filled with hilarious gags. Stiffler however, he's just getting annoying! I don't think I could handle anymore of him.
-
This is the last of the American Pie movies I watched and I feel it ended fairly :D I love the cast and as always a bunch of laughs so that is why like the others I gave it 5 stars!
-
I'm not really a fan of teen movies built on dirty jokes. But this film just should've stuck with the spirit of its past predecessors. Sure, it was laudable to see the attempt of the director to inject more maturity into this film by turning it into a sort of coming of age film. But by capitalizing on that slant too much than he really should, the movie was thus reduced into a cheesy, trying-too-hard film.

1/2 saw it didn't like it & would never see again
1=would see it again if there was nothing else to do
3=liked
4-5=loved and then some -
American Wedding is a fitting conclusion to the American Pie trilogy, with its usual batch of gross out humour and nudity, but you can really feel a decline in the jokes being told.
