The anamorphic art was nice, but the film itself was a bit too blurry and vague for my taste. Perhaps I should've been more alert to get more out of it.

As soon as I started watching this I thought Se7en! Weird. The Story was pretty good, actually caught my full attention. The Cast was god too, love Dafoe and Speedman...! Sometimes it was a bit slow but overall I though it was well worth my time.

It's truly a weak, slow and miserable little thriller, the cocept is interesting but the material is weak and dosent deserve the great talents of Willem Dafoe, Scott Speedman and Peter Storemare

I can honestly say that I hated this movie -and I am a great psychological thrillers fan. I don't know what their intention was, but as sure as hell they didn't manage to achieve another masterpiece that follows in the footsteps of "Se7en."

The basic cast's performances were a...( read more)bove decent -but who pays attention to the performances when the movie is confusing, wearisome and boring? Half way through the movie I decided I would stop trying to figure out what was going on. It's so complicated and perplex that I'm not sure the screenwriter understood it himself...he was probably on drugs while writing it. The basic idea is brilliant and original but it fails to deliver. The screenplay and graphics are tiring to watch as well.

So...more or less...a very bad film.

Some films are intentionally ambiguous leaving the final interpretation up to the viewer while others simply fail to tell a cohesive story causing the viewer to invent all kinds of theories about what the film was trying to say. Anamorph falls into the latter category.

This is o...( read more)ne of those films where the death/crime scene is a work of morbid art, in the tradition of Se7en and Silence of the Lambs. The film looks good with its fiery cinematography. It's paced well and Willem Dafoe turns in a smoldering performance as the aging cop we're never clear on just how torn apart are his insides. And that's where this film fails. It's never clear about much of anything and tries to justify itself via the concept of the anamorph whose rendering "Depends on where you stand." Flashbacks and reflective turmoil are used to try and fill in the blanks as to why Dafoe's character is so intimately connected to the crimes. The film's denouement gives us a silly special effect suggesting multiple personalities may be involved. But 'maybe this' and 'maybe that' aren't good enough and I'm confident that at film's end you will scratch your head and say "Whaaaa"? It's also disappointing that, surprisingly, we weren't treated to any really good anamorph illusions. Given the title of the film, I'm just saying ....

NOT A BAD MOVIE BUT SOME SLOW SCENES AND SOMETIMES GOT A LITTLE CONFUSED!
    HAD A CRAP ENDING!

Ugh! What a pile. I can't even make sense of the ending.

dafoe plays a moody detective, with recent murders involving bodies being done up like art, wants to like classic films like seven, but nowhere near as stylish or entertaining

I like nothing about this movie except the artworks.
It was boring and not very well played. You can tell that Willem Dafoe doen't want be a part of it. Clea DuVall is as annoying as ever. Why do they insist on giving her parts?

    Watch something else!!

The movie failed to capture our interest in his slow-pace rythm, messy story and artistic references.
