Absolutely funny! It keeps you on the floor and doesn't stop with jokes.

A very funny film with some brilliant lines. Ferrell has never been better (I hate most of his other films) but it's Carell who steals the show.

This could be Ferrels best, its so well done, the whole 70's look with the tash and hair is brilliant. The rival news teams and the street fight, their silly sign offs, Steve Carrel is amazingly funny and the sexist pot shots are hilarious. So un-pc but thats the point hahaha the ...( read more)way in which Ferrel acts and delivers his lines are perfect for the part, he makes the movie you can believe newsreaders are actually like this. The rest of the cast are so good too, they all look just right, very good.

"His news is bigger than your news."

Ron Burgundy is San Diego's top rated newsman in the male dominated broadcasting of the 1970's, but that's all about to change when a new female employee with ambition to burn arrives in his office.

"Anchorman" grew on me. Like unwanted back hair, it grew on me. The first time I saw it, I thought it was fairly funny. Then I saw it a second and third time and it went from fairly funny to undoubtedly funny. This movie has several quotable and memorable scenes, plus each one of the characters in Ron Burgundy's broadcast team was amusing in his own way. In fact, the broadcast team was just a perfect bunch. But, without question, Will Ferrell held it down as Ron Burgundy. Will Ferrell has just been ascending in my book as of late, but if there is any role I would say he shined the most in, it would be this one. As I watched "Anchorman" again, I was a bit more attentive and I picked up on even more funny little subtleties. And the scene with him bickering back and forth with Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) was just classic. My advice to those who haven't seen it... watch it, and then watch it again. If you didn't like it the first time, you'll warm up to it.

I generally find this brand of humor tasteless, but found this movie somehow excusable because it seems to understand and enjoy the fact that it is tasteless and juvenile. It celebrates its own stupidity. What you make of this is up to you, but I found this almost appealing. Ther...( read more)e is something to be said for its quotability as well.

This takes place on that group of things that make feel strange. I hear everyone around me saying that Will Ferrell is a great comedian and I can't see him like that. I just can't laugh with him.
