"The Blue Wolf: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea" (2007) I think is the international title of this movie. Not even sure if this is the one with Takashi Sorimochi (GTO the movie, 13 Kaidan "Thirteen Steps") but the name of the director is correct. The movie is about the life of Temujin becoming Genghis Khan and unified the entire Mongolia. Filmed in actual Mongolian grassfield, the panorama shots is as amazing as the characters themselves. Deeply concentrating on the possible inner being of Genghis Khan and how he protected his family clan while showing his ruthless side. This is a Japanese film, not a Mongolian film. Lots of Japanese culture is there still. (Such as the samurai way of talking, quick movement to hold woman.) Lots of comical moments. The film is mostly concentrated into whether Zuchi is Temujin's biological son and Temujin is Esukhei's biological son or not which is a little drag and plus some of the historical account is inaccurate--So don't hope to learn history from this film. Zuchi didn't die that early and Tooril is supposed to be killed by the Naimans, not Jamukha. I was hoping to watch Temujin's entire conquests till he dies.
