Jack Carney (Hart Bochner), the new roommate, appears normal enough at first but it soon becomes apparent that he is hiding something. As their friendship develops, Adrian suppresses his suspicions that Jack may be the government mercenary turned serial killer who has been terrorizing the city. The other eccentric residents of the building begin to worry as Adrian shows increasing signs that his mothers insanity may be hereditary. The shocking climax of this twisted tale of deceit, perversion and murder reveals the darker side of the human psyche.

I'm not a Colin Firth fan, but in this movie he pulled off a great performance and his character was likable in his quirkiness and self-righteousness. The chemistry between him and Hart Bochner is simply amazing and wholly belieavable. The ending was brilliant and so was the stor...( read more)y. A great character-based film about kindness, secrets and loneliness. A definite suggestion.

This is a neat little flick that you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else but Flixster. A big treat for Colin Firth fans, where he plays his usual affected, stuffy British self until a delightful little turn in the last half hour or so. The plot is original and inventive, thou...( read more)gh it gets sidetracked way too easily worrying about a bunch of side characters who ultimately end up being unimportant. When the main storyline is actually resolved, you realize that very little has actually happened throughout the movie.

Further, that main storyline can be poorly explained sometimes. I didn't really understand the whole army subplot at all, or even why the killer was acting as he did. I don't know if it was the director's intent or not, but it was confusing.

Apartment Zero does do a lot of things right, though, including a strong tone, awesome settings and some very good performances - not to mention the ridiculous sexual tension. This movie is the biggest tease ever, seriously.

I've read a lot of reviews on this film all which are positive and or say this is best unheard of Film that the reviewer has seen. I guess I was watching a different version of this film, because I didn?t think it was all that hot, matter fact dull most of the way thru. I picked ...( read more)my copy up in a pawn shop and didn't spend to much a fact which makes me happy. The movie is on location in Buenos Aires. Its about a relationship between two men, Colin Firth (Adrian) and Hart Bochner. It borders on the edge of homosexuality and true friendship. Colin mistrust Bochner throughout the movie and it sets up some pretty intense thriller scenes. The tenets that live in the apartment complex are all right out of Alfred Hitchcock novels, each one a little stranger. The ending both weird and Strange. Though others enjoyed it, I can only muster up 2 stars on this one.

Very cool movie. A lonely man who keeps to himself (Colin Firth) is so desperate for company that he's willing to over look the increasingly suspicious behavior of his ruggedly good-looking American room mate. Colin Firth is adorable in this movie, a must see for any one who lo...( read more)ves suspense, intrigue, and those lovely puppy dog looks that Colin Firth has mastered.

This is Colin Firth like you've never seen him before! If you are used to Mr. Darcy, then you will be as surprised as I was to see him in this role. He was excellent!
He is just weird as Adrian LeDuc who rents a room to Jack Carney, played by Hart Bochner. The story unfolds as a ...( read more)killer is on the loose and Adrian is dealing with the deterioration of his ailing mother. He just keeps getting weirder and weirder and I blame his nosy neighbors, who are also weird in their own right.
I didn't expect the movie to end as it did but when you think about it, it all makes sense.
My mom recommended this movie to me when we were in Buenos Aires, since that is where the movie takes place. Didn't recognize any of the sites, but it was well worth a watch.
