The incredible trilogy reaches its conclusion. The boy becomes a man and falls in love. The relationship is both touching and enlightening. Ultimately, this chapter might be the most accessible in the Apu series.

No Kwik-E-Mart jokes, please. What I love about foreign films is that they show no matter what the culture, language, or people, there are some universal truths to be had. Love, family, heartbreak, tragedy, regardless of your spot on the globe, regardless of race or creed, we a...( read more)ll experience them. It's heartening. This was a great movie. I didn't know this was part of a trilogy before going into it, but you needn't have seen the first two films to appreciate this (though I will now be seeking out the other two). Uplifting and heartbreaking, this is a great story, and director Ray does an excellent job of casting not only talented actors, but peformers who are also lovely to look at. Apu, Aparna, and their son Kajal are beautiful.
