His...( read more ) fateful meeting with a former Stalinist bodyguard leads to the uncovering of one of the world's most dangerous and best kept secrets. He is led unwittingly through murder and intrigue towards his own personal "Holy Grail" - Joseph Stalin's secret legacy - a legacy that could change the face of Russian history forever.
A pretty good movie, I liked the point of it and how it was played out. I thought the acting in part of Rednikova was great, I thought Daniel Craig could have been a little better, but I was satisfied. What I liked best of this movie was the ending, it was great and made a lot of sense but also wasn't expected.
Pretty much I'll watch or read anything to do with Russia and Stalinism, and if you add Daniel Craig to it, I'll eat it up. It was alright, but I did get bored several times and wanted to go make some taquitos.
This is a film that is not without flaws both in script and in production, but it is a movie of intrigue that makes for a good night's adventure of escape...and political philosophizing.
very interesting story & clear view of modern life in Russia, but this movie did seem to go on forever
This was a good movie. It felt a bit drawn out in the beginning but they had to get the story started somehow. Give it some time and you'll get drawn in. I was very happy with the movie once the plot became apparant.
Quite an interesting film, based on a book that is apparently not that bad either. This reminded in some parts of The Da Vinci Code...but executed in a much more believable fashion with a plot that unfolds that may actually not be quite as ludicrous! ;]
Daniel Craig, although you can say 'thank you' in Russian flawlessly...you must work on that accent! Hahaha, though most of the translation was accurate...within reason.
Altogether the story itself is quite intriguing, when a westen professor is met by an old man who was a former bodyguard of Stalin and tells his story. The story leads to something invaluable to [history] that needs to be found and of course it sets off Fluke Kelso (Craig) on journey discovering some of the most confidential and dangerously kept secrets.
What an interesting take on Stalin, and keeps you bound to your seat...wondering where the next lead will bring you to. Definitely much like the
'holy grail' of sorts for Stalin's secret legacy.
i was 3/4ths of the way through this when i realized that i had read the book that this movie was based on and didn't enjoy it. oh well.
Some good intrigue and suspense in the first half. Stalin's legacy wasn't quite what I was looking for but it was exactly what I expected. Still a decent film. I really only put this in my queue because of Daniel Craig. I wanted to see more of his work after "Casino Royale".
This board looks lonely. Be the first to talk about "Archangel" !
