I don't know what to say about this one. it was ok of a kid robot cartoon. It could be called sad but to me it wasn't realy sad cause it just didn't get to me. I gues for me I would have to be in a depressed mood to feel sad about thie story? I don't know how to describe this one...( read more)
Astro boy, an adaptation of the classic Japanese manga, In comics and Tv for the last 58 years finally comes to the big screen. Its full of complex emotional and humorous adventure that kids and adults are sure to enjoy.
Animation will always get a good rating from me as long as film makers make a good storyline.
Yeah its alright, but we need to pushing the computer animation now not just re using it. oh and a good story helps aswell LOL
It's actually a good movie if you're not in the mood for something complicated. The movie manages to be both funny and heartwarming/breaking (depending on the scene). The CG is interesting and the characters seem rather well though.
not so many people know who astroboy is. Only reason I know is back in the 80's and early 90's ZCanadian tv showed it on saturdays and we'd watch it.
It was good. I enjoy watching it.. Thank God, they didnt destroy my fave comic book.
Truth is I'm not 100% that children will get the story line exactly, with its political undertones and such, but luckily the action sequences and pretty awesome visual effects are all that's needed to keep them glued to their seat.
The first superhero that I like (and the only one). Perhaps because he's miniature or perhaps because he is good at math. I cannot say for sure.

I think it was cool. It's sad that he died but i was realived that he turn out ot be a robot ! I watch it twice wit my bff! It was a good movie.
I like the character and the movie very much.
I'm not surprised if it finally get nod for Oscar, but I think the Academy will favor either Up or Hayao Miyazaki's 2009 anime.

I never saw the original series, but this new movie was AWESOME!!!!!! the beginning was sad, though, but it was full of action, comedy and a little touch of romance. That dvd is MINE!!!!!!(when it comes out, of course)

I was never an Astro Boy fan, but this movie made me want to see more...just a smart little movie.
i love father-son-robot-uncle connection here,..and the energy.. and the rise from dead, it's good.. but it could've been better if they add more comedy.
I remember our childhood days with my elder brother...this is one of his favorite anime...It kind of differ from the anime series but the essence is still there...
Visually, its Pixar-lite. But in the fun stakes, it surprisingly delivers. The evils of technology message is a little forced, but its bright and colourful and has enough smarts to say engaging for its short running time. Definatly a pleasant treat.
