This fourth entry in the Gamera series found the titanic turtle paralleling the cuddly direction of his competitor Godzilla. When two young, star-gazing children investigate a spaceship that h...( read more  read more... )as practically landed in their backyard, they are whisked away to Terra, our undiscovered tenth planet whose two "groovy spacegirls" are all that remain of a once-superior alien civilization. But the boys soon discover that their seemingly friendly hosts have sinister plans in mind for them. Never fear, for Gamera comes to save them, flying through space to battle the spacegirls' guardian Guiron, a giant, rhino-like beast possessing a razor-sharp steel blade for a snout. This movie is truly suited for young children, for older kids, and especially for adults will chortle at the unintentional humor arising from the cheesy effects, underplayed roles, and possibly the worst dubbing job in Japanese monster history. Taken as comedy, adults will find this a real camp gem--when the two boys witness Guiron slice 'n' dice a laser-spewing Gaos, one of them proclaims: "What a monster!" --Bryan Reesman

Another Gamera Movie, Made in 1969, two kids get on a flying saucer and go to another star that is like earth, yes I said star, and they run into these two bitc*s who want to eat there brains, yea , go figure a 1969 kids movie, and on this planet they run into another monster Gui...( read more)ron. But Gamera saves the day, puts away Guiron and brings the boys back to earth, so with only one other monster why the title attack all monsters, strictly a old school Asian Sci-Fi flick for kids 2 1/2 stars.

A movie for kids at heart.

Monster movies didn't use to be what they are. Unless you belong to the film's demographics (i.e. you are a Japanese boy between the ages of 6 and 9 and you live in the late sixties, in which case you can't be reading this since the Internet hasn't been invented yet), you might f...( read more)ind this one a little dumb, especially with the U.S. dubbing, which does not make it any brighter.

Two kids climb on board a spaceship which brings them to a planet so advanced that they have electronic rain that controls the laws of nature and absolutely no traffic accidents (since they replaced the car with teleporting booths), a world made even cooler by the presence of Gyaoses of a different colour (because they're space Gyaoses, not the earthbound Gyaoses you country bumpkins are used to.) But our two heroes soon discover that the planet has two downsides: first, there's a giant monster with a razor-sharp cranial ridge that tends to slice everything up every now and then; and second, the two ladies who have been so kind to them actually intend to eat their brains.

This is another one to watch solely for the MST3K commentary ("Yes, I know, I haven't been in this film. Yes, I know, I've been busy"; "Kids' brains always taste better when they've been thinking about doughnuts"), unless your inner child is still in control of your mind, and you still believe in planets without traffic accidents.

Two kids go to another planet where alien women try to eat there brains so, Gamera comes to the rescue.
This movie is too silly to be taken seriously and watching monsters fight is always fun.

Most early Gamera movies are childish & dumb. This is maybe the dumbest. Still Guiron is a cool looking monster.

The poster is cooler than the film

Most of the movie is completely ridiculous with the kids, but Guiron is a hilariously awesome so those are winning points in my book.
