    Yeah baby, great when it came out but it's really dated considering its only just over 10 years old. Still fun though!

    The first film of this series is of course the best due to the fact that it is a true parody, compared to the sequels which recycle a lot of the jokes and lose the aspect that makes this film work. A parody film of 60s spy movies - namely James Bond.

    Austin Powers: Actually, my name is Austin Powers. Danger is my middle name.

    Mike Myers stars as the title hipster spy, Austin Powers, fitting right into the 60s, loved by all while fighting evil, namely his nemesis Dr. Evil, also played by Myers.

    Dr. Evil decides to freeze himself in order to get away from powers, and come back in the future. Powers does the same and both arrive in 1997. Powers and Dr. Evil now still go through the same plot as they would in the 60s, except they must now deal with 90s culture.

    This is a very funny movie involving fish out of water situations as well as great fun poked at the various older spy movies.

    Austin Powers: That really hurt! I'm gonna have a lump there, you idiot! Who throws a shoe? Honestly! You fight like a woman!

    From this, myers was able to create two iconic characters, both of which are hilarious, but then add to that a supporting cast that is well suited to the flick, a plentiful amount of memorable moments and lines, and a swinging soundtrack, and you have an easily watchable film that maintains its humor.

    Dr. Evil: The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

    Austin Powers movies are always more of the same, but if you enjoy this brand of comedy (like me), then you can always count on them for a good time.

    This is a good bit of fun, but, you do, sometimes get the impression that Myers dusted off a well-thumbed, old joke book, as you can see most gags coming a mile off. Myers does a good job in the multiple rolles, though.
