Just a glorified Ferngully!
the Apple trailer for this film looked rather dull, but on the televised version it seems hyped up, i will be watching this one
Sounds like a great story and looks amazing but CGI and action are not what should carry a movie, ergo Star Wars ep. 1-3 for example.
Story and dialog are above all.
CGI and action should only be there as supplement.
I'm hoping that's the case with this one and I shouldn't worry too much as James Cameron proved this with Terminator 2.
This really rocks....

Avatar will be bloody amazing!
I mean, the cameras ceased rolling midway 2008. James Cameron now has 18 months for post-production and he's dealing with new revolutionary technology. Reportedly, you won't be able to tell the difference between CGI and live action.
In a world of CGI blockbusters, this could be the antidote modern cinema needs. Even looking at the greatest special effects of recent years such as the Star Wars prequels and King Kong and Transformers...the CGI looks fantastic but you can tell it's CGI. Looking back on a film like Titanic the special effects are almost seamless. 10 years on...well, I don't think they'll be a fault to spot.
This film will be utterly amazing.
I love James Cameron's work. Terminator, Aliens, True Lies- the guy does not make bad movies. Nevertheless, I am anticipating that this film will suck hard. Why? Because Cameron's been out of the game for more than ten friggin' years (wasted doing underwater IMAX documentaries, of all things, and just sort of coasting on his Titanic Oscar), and from the sound of things, his mind is more focused on the technology of the film than anything else (and I'm sorry, but that plot description just sounds lame, not to mention that the conflict's been done to death).
I am really, really hoping I'm wrong about this. Nothing would please me more than a return to form for James Cameron, but so far, this movie doesn't look like it. Then again, it's early yet...
It looks pretty good, I'm looking forward to the special effects. But Avatar: The Last Airbender is, well I can't say its better cause I havn't seen this Avatar, but Avatar: the last airbender is VERY GOOD still!! XD yeww first comment!
