Overall, I'd recomend the comicbook of Alien Vs. Predator over this film. The Comicbook come out first and was done much better. But the movie was pretty good. so, oh well.

Paul W.S. Anderson really missed the mark here, this could have worked! I'm guessing he never read the comics, a faithful adaptation would have been ace!

OK, if you see the cinema version this is kinda lame but if you get the US uncut DVD its much better. Overall its still a shame they went with the kiddie less violence and blood approach, I love these two franchises and they HAVE to be for adults only,no question. It still looks...( read more) good, the queen fight is great, it just needed alittle more care and attention with the plot. Rumours of Arnie making a cameo if he lost the governors election were true and that would have really raised the bar, a Dutch cameo, damn shame there.

    REVIEW
This movie is laughably bad. So bad, I found myself cheering for the Aliens. Once I was able to think of it as anything but an Alien/Predator movie, I stopped being offended and started laughing.

The script is awful, and the acting is worse. The action (for lack of a better word) was badly filmed, and did not once mirror the suspense of Alien or the thrills of Predator. As the "plot" developed, I was astounded at Paul W.S. Anderson's inability to make a movie. This movie is a joke. Provided you have a sense of humour, it's actually possible to watch this as a joke and not as a movie. I watched in mirth as the actors struggled to deliver the simplest of lines with the correct emphasis or emotion.

Still, I absolutely cannot recommend this movie to anyone who doesn't like inflicting pain on themselves.

    Thomas: Sacrificial chamber.

It's not Starship Troopers in terms of best guilty pleasure, but I have fun watching this movie...and I'm for Predator all the way.

Born out of the idea sparked in Preda...( read more)tor 2, only to be expanded upon in comics and video games, this is the best I guess I could have hoped for from a PG-13 combination of two really cool creatures. If only it could have went all out and gored everything up a notch, let alone exist as a credible movie.

The "story" surrounds the same company that will rule all in the Alien movies, discovering an underground pyramid in Antarctica. A group decides to go explore this pyramid.

After 30 minutes of subpar character development and plot stuff, the movie really gets underway with the Predator's facing off against the Aliens. And I didn't even mention the part where things turn into a buddy movie of sorts.

Director Paul W.S. Anderson who is almost as far down fanboy hated director lists as Uwe Boll, does what he does best. Anderson knows how to set up well made production design, good sets and fine use of practical and visual effects. This is a well made movie in terms of visuals and creature action as far as a PG-13 movie can go.

Mark Verheiden: You want a piece of me? You ugly son of a bitch!

Overall you have a neat enough movie with some impressive sequences. One shot of the film features three predators on top of a pyramid, panning out to hundreds of aliens coming after them. While that promise is not met throughout, it is a decent enough film for genre fans.

Note: The r-rated trailer for the sequel AVP:R has more gore and violence in it than all of this movie. This only means that at least a setup was made for the absolute version of and Alien vs. Predator film.
