  Both 'Alien' and 'Predator' are classics with suspense and violence. This film doesn't even meet up to their standards. Aside from the most unlikely alliance, there are some good action moments.Featuring predictable scenarios and slightly obvious CGI, it easily loses its supposed realism. If you are a hardcore fan of 'Alien' or 'Predator', its best to give this a miss. If you are new with two of movie's greatest monsters, just stick with the originals.

Have you guys seen the Resident Evil movies? ...Freakin horrible. None of them have any merits of anything that is good about filmmaking other then the fact that it made it into theaters. Please Anderson... stop making movies. This is one of the worst movies to come out in this decade. Don't watch this garbage.

  A research team investigating an ancient pyramid discovered beneath the Antarctic are caught in the middle of a battle between two hostile alien races. Paul W. S. Anderson is a damn hack, which makes it deeply annoying that I actually quite enjoyed this film. The action sequences are pretty damn good; the scene where a predator fights toe to toe with an alien is worth 3 stars on it's own. Unfortunately, the rest of the film doesn't quite measure up to its heritage. In a way it reminded me of Jurassic Park because it's a creature feature where the creatures are much more interesting than the people involved; characterisation is sketchy at best, a mistake too many writers make because it makes it impossible to care what happens to everyone. Even Sanaa Lathan is sexy and sassy, but at the same time completely uninteresting. On the other hand the set pieces are very well done and the effects are excellent; the predator technology in particular looks fantastic. As a whole it makes a far better Predator film than an Alien film because of the way it ignores the logical "rules" of that franchise (the absurdly accelerated gestation period being the prime example), preferring the big dumb fun of Arnie to the intelligence and gore of Alien, but if you keep your expectations low it's actually a rather enjoyable monster mash up.

Alien provides absolute horror and memorable characters in its films and Predator provides the thrills and more than necessary action sequences in its films. When the two meet what you get is cardboard cutout characters, too many action sequences that give off no scares or thrills.

  Its an entertaining enough sequel, however im now starting to get that feeling that if you've seen the previous one it will be pretty much the same. The fight scenes between the two different species are much more explosive and entertainging than compared to the first one which is a bonus. For me these movies just seem to lack a purpose, a point to the storyline, i understand that these guys thought "well i want to see which one would win when put together in the same hunting ground" and although that concept is a good thought, they should had either left it at that.

  Was this a incredible movie? No. Was it a good movie? Yes. While it may not appeal to those looking for a movie as violent as the original Predator movies, or as scary as the alien movies, i'll admit to liking it. The action is obviously the centerpiece of the movie. The action scenes, particulary the final battle scene between the alien queen and the predator, are very well choreagraphed to the point where it feels like a syncrinized dance. The acting is nothing special, so I won't talk about it much. In fact, the only actor who did a really good job was Lance Henrisken as the expidition leader. We really care about him by the time he is sacrifices himself to save the rest of the crew. What I loved was the way that Paul Anderson managed to combine tha Alien and Predator storylines to create a very well thought out and creative plot. What is this plot? I will explain. Apparently, a long time ago, a tribe lived in the area where the movie takes place. They were very primitive, and were just managing to survive. So they made a deal with the Predators to help make them prey for them to hunt, in return for advancements in their civilization (They did this by attaching face huggers to sacrifices) Only, sometimes, the prey became to strong, and now thet threaten to become so strong, they could exterminate the human race. Is that awesome or what? Though this might be a let down for die hard Alien/Predator fans looking for super violent scary material, if you come into this movie with an open mind, you might find you actually enjoy it.

  OK, if you see the cinema version this is kinda lame but if you get the US uncut DVD its mildly better, although they have simply crowbarred in cgi blood for a few shots it still does manage to slightly raise the bar. Overall its still a shame they went with the kiddie route with the little violence and blood approach, I love these two franchises and they HAVE to be for adults only, no question. It still looks good, the pyramid under the ice concept at first seemed too much but its actually quite imaginative and ends up working, the alien queen looks spot on with her fight at the end being good fun, in general all the aliens look good to be honest. They have captured the essence from the 'Alien' franchise just right with the help of Woodruff Jr and Gillis. The problem is they haven't done so well with the Predator side, in short they completely fudged up the look of the preds. When the lead predator removes his mask it reveals an almost cuddy bug eyed face that is so so so wrong, its missing ALL the aggressive slimy realism from the original. The body armour isn't too bad and the spaceships still look good but trying to bulk the preds up with muscle and giving longer dreads really looks poor, no excuse. Overall it just needed alittle more care and attention with the plot and execution, the cast are reasonable as a ragtag bunch of individuals and reusing Henriksen was a real life saver for the film but the sloppy gore-less action and rushed plot just don't work. Rumours of Arnie making a cameo if he lost the governors election would have made a HUGE difference for sure, a Dutch cameo! damn shame there. The modern trend has been to remake or reboot many old adult franchises but at the same time make them more friendly to the mass audiences for more money, makes sense but it also ends up with terrible films, this offering just about scraps through without plunging into the void of crapola.

  AVP-Alien VS Predators is an average action horror flick. The first cross over of two sequels, this is the better film. AVP is an interesting concept, but with minimal satisfaction. Considering that this film combines two creatures of two of the most legendary action Sci Fi horror franchises, you'd expect something phenomenal. But also in a way, this film is the best that they could do, and it is a film with good results, but it makes you feel that theres something missing to make this the film that Predator and Alien fans want it to be a truly exciting film. The film does have moments of tense, brutal action. But you feel the limitations of the script. you can tell that the story feel incomplete, at least thats how I felt. The acting is fairly decent for a film of this caliber, just don't expect something truly phenomenal. Because you won't find it here. For what it's worth, AVP is good entertainment. The film has a lot of unrealized potential, but it manages to be a fun thrill ride. Helmed by Paul W.S Anderson, AVP is pleasant if not perfect action horror film. Though the film suffers, it still has plenty of impressive things going for it to be a good enough film to watch on a rainy night. However this film doesn't try to do anything truly original or inventive with the concept that we are given in the film. In fact, a few scenes seemed kind of silly, but I guess it's acceptable for a film like this. A good enough action horror film, but it doesn't do justice to both franchises.

  Have you seen an Alien movie or a Predator movie? If the answer to either of these questions is a yes, than you've already seen this movie. But if you do watch this movie, get ready for a movie with zero new material or shocks. Who knew the 2 most unique movie monsters in the industry could be so boring together. And the fact this is PG-13 makes it worse, there's not even any cool kills or interesting gore or any kind. It relies on the prowess and moments from the franchise far too-often. The only reason this movie doesn't get one star is because they mostly use creature effects for the film, there isn't a ton of subpar CG, only a little bit. That at least makes it bearable, you get to see some pretty good creature effects. But this is only good for making fun of, nothing else.

However, this film does add to the mythos, and it is watchable, so that's cool. Anderson makes crap, but he makes entrtaining and watchable crap. This deserved some better justice, but hey, what can you do?

The fights to me were decent enough but not overwhelming like you would expect. Thousands of years ago, huntsmen (the predators) found planet earth. While there, they trained humans to build and were reverenced as Gods. Every century, these "Gods" would go back to Earth, and when they did, they expected a sacrifice. Humans were used as livestock to breed the vital prey (the aliens). The predators would now combat the prey to establish themselves creditable or to "carry the mark" of becoming adults. If the huntsmen (the predators) find themselves losing the battle, they would then self destruct in order to make sure that nothing survives. Billionaire Weyland thinks that he has exposed the remains of an early pyramid temple, that is a cross between the Egyptian and Aztec pyramids. It was hidden under the ice of Bouvetøya Island in the Antarctic Ocean. Now, what industrialist Charles Weyland and his comprised team of engineers and scientists didn't know was that the predators have set a trap for them. They have lured them to this remote location using a heat beam picked up by Weyland's satellite. This was done to make sure that the aliens had hosts to breed in. As the humans battle both predators and aliens, predators and aliens also have a battle of the species which will leave only one race standing.

  Well AvP... It's true enough to say the movie had a lot to live up to, the game had given me a hunger for story driven non-stop action that didn't come at the cost or should i say sacrifice of making a movie look like it had simply been engineered for an audience. the film left questions to be answered and a strange sinking suspicion that what I had watched would have been impossible even had the 2 species existed and had clashed in open confrontation. Putting that a side I was simply glad to see the franchise live on, and no one can deny the excitement and tension of simply thinking about these creatures locked in mortal combat. The fight scenes were impressive enough to excuse a possibly "wooden" plot - but at the end of the day I expected nothing more than edge of my seat action. To be fair the acting was impressive seeing as they had a tough story to bring alive - but pats on the back all round from my camp! I want more aliens and I want more predator - I want more AvP!

  A bad movie that almost bears no resemblance to the styles of either franchise, but somehow it becomes a guilty pleasure when you've got an Alien and Predator fighting each other. The story and characters are ridiculous, it almost would have fended off better as a silent movie with only the two respected alien species fighting each other for an hour and a half. Paul W.S. Anderson, try as he may, has no ability to make a rational and effective movie experience.
