Not nearly as funny as the trailers showed. Maybe I was expecting too much but either way it falls flat.

I love the gender split with this film if you look at a break down of the ratings. Always love Tina Fey!

why the fuck did I see this movie? just to hear Amy Poehler say that giving birth feels like she's "shitting a knife"? no, because it was too late before I figured out I wasn't watching Black Mama White Mama.

I'm not generally a fan of the SNL crew, but this was funny and sweet and had cute little surprises throughout.

A predictable movie that is saved by the cast. Tiny Fea is one of the most under rated comedians out there and it gave Steve Martin his first funny movie role in who knows how long. Amy Poehler overplayed a couple scenes but she was good overall. And if you read this review and enjoyed it, I'll reward you with five minutes of uninterpreted eye contact next time I see you.

At first I was not interested in seeing this film, the sight of Poehler peeing in a sink is not my idea of good comedy. However the film has some good laughs, and some of the better comedy I've seen from Tina Fey. I like her but her comedy seems to be a mix of good and bad, sometimes she's funny, sometimes she's not. In this film it's more than not, also, women will enjoy the film and its comedy much more than men.

Now, I won't admit I was wrong thinking it was bad, however, it was not as bad as I assumed it would have been. It was JUST passable as a movie that I would see, on a whim, with some friends at the theater. I wouldn't plan to see it, I wouldn't go out late on a Friday/Saturday just to see it. But on a slow Monday/Thursday afternoon when you're just hanging downtown, it is a good movie to see. No real thinking, some quaint comedy and a story that doesn't get too bad too fast. However, the last 15 minutes were both rushed, predictable and was not synergistic with the rest of the movie. However, this is becoming a common occurance in movies lately.

Not great, not bad, just right for an afternoon time killer.

It costs more to have someone born than to have someone killed.

Kate Holbrook, played by Tina Fey, is 37, single, and ready to be a mother. When her doctor tells her that he doesn't like her uterus and she probably will never get pregnant, she turns to surrogacy.

Kate is interviewed by Angie Ostrowiski, played by Amy Poehler. Angie decides to be the surrogate mother for Kate and the procedure takes place. A few days later Angie shows up at Kate's apartment looking for a place to stay after breaking up with her boyfriend. Things get off to a ruff start while living together but the two end up becoming great friends.

As it turns out, Angie never got pregnant. She and her boyfriend just went along with it to keep receiving the checks from Kate. Being upset that the insemination procedure didn't take, Angie and her boyfriend have sex and she does get pregnant. When Kate finds out that Angie isn't carrying her baby, the friendship ends.

During this time, Kate falls for a cafe owner named Rob, played by Greg Kinnear. In the end, Kate and Rob end up getting pregnant and the friendship between Kate and Angie gets rekindled.

All in all, a nice and funny flick that, of course, has that little bit of meaning.

Eh. It's okay. Not really my type of humor, but I did laugh a few times. Too predictable, too obvious, and the humor is too cheap and easy. I'm glad I saw it at the "cheap theatre."

Pretty good movie, not wonderful, but entertaining. It had occasional funny moments, but predictable. 3/5 Worth the watch, but just once.

It's an entertaining, funny movie. There are some genuinely funny scenes that help carry the movie along. It goes a little long and starts to loose direction toward the end, but enjoyable over all. Worth a rental or at the cheapies.

A fun comedy and clever, original screenplay with lousy timing, and in the world of comedy timing is EVERYTHING.

Another one that was better than I thought it would be. I went in with preconceived ideas about the Amy Phoehler character and was pleasently surprised.

Thought it would be funnier. It did have it's moments. They added some dramatics to the film which really didn't go with the crazy funny.
