When the prodigal success arrives in Bloomfield, she’s surprised to find her family home turned into a bed-and-breakfast run by her mother? Sydney’s also taken aback by her still deep feelings for Gus, now a widower with a six-year-old son. But as she adjusts to the past, Sydney struggles to reconnect with her emotionally distant mother. Only one other person in Bloomfield shares Helen’s secret: Ed Jenkins (Don Harvey), head pastor of the local church. Sworn to confessional privacy, he urges Sydney to make amends and discover for herself why the Ludwick family ties have been wounded.
