Throughout this movie, I thought that it was moderately funny and interesting enough to continue watching. Nothing really jumped out at me as being really spectacular. That changed at the end though - the twist ending was really great, and totally unexpected for me. One of the other highlights of the movie was the humour of Terry's neurotic character and the strange diagnoses that he kept coming up with for himself. It was more good than bad, although as a comedy it wasn't spectacular by any stretch.
Bandits starts out as a slick action-comedy and evolves into a sweet romantic comedy. Normally, a movie like this would be consisted of cut-and-dry, stereotypical characters, but we gradually fall in love these three characters. Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton make a great team--they really have an impeccable chemistry. The twist ending is nifty and unpredictable.
This movie was just as much funny, silly and unpredictable as it was awesome.
There was a LOT going on in the background but somehow it never really took away from the story.
The story itself is nothing special but the characters that shape it make it one hellova story.
Everyones got there own quirks and problems to deal with while working together to give themselves the name 'the sleepover bandits' and while they all act a little deranged the film never really goes there.
This is one of the best movies of its genre ive seen in a while, no one seems to really have chemistry with anyone and the choice of cast seems absurd but their differences are what makes for some very memorable (not to mention funny) scenes.
Love this film -still hillarious after tens of times having watched it. Thornton steals the thunder in this black comedy. A masterpiece of directing skills.
An outragiously funny comedy. A brilliant, slick, stylish and terifficllay fun film. Well developed chracters and plot. Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton are fantastic. Their a great team. Their chemistry shines throughout showing they make all the right moves. One of the best buddy comedies in years. A wonderful movie.
A funny unlikely action comedy. I thought at the beginning I may have found my first film where Billy Bob wasn't too great, but soon changed my mind, when he became more and more humourous throughout.
This is the first time I have seen Cate Blanchett in a comedy role and think she did equally as well as her more serious roles.
Bandits' most interesting plot line, the three-way love story, simply hints at the complicated thing of a two-man/one-woman relationship and never moves past the original stages of cuteness and juvenile love.
Two modern Robin Hoods, one charming and handsome, the other hypochondriac but smart, becoming famous bank robbers through big media coverage. With a housewife becoming their hostage, accomplice and love affair things get complicated, of course. There is a great chemistry between Willis and Thornton, their dialoges flow pretty well and Cate Blanchett is just fantastic as gorgeous Bonnie-Tyler-singalong. Sadly, the conclusion seemed a bit obvious to me especially for such an easy-going movie but still was kinda neat. However, most of the movie is really entertaining and while not entirely new or exciting still worth checking out for fans of heist movies or the stars.
well this movie managed to give me some few laughs, but it was definitely fun seeing Cate Blanchett dancing and singing to a ladel! she's very lovable here :)
my favorite Bruce Willis movie. even though I know what happens, I still love watching this b/c of the really clever dialogue and incredible acting by all 3.
Puke!!!! This movie sucks. I sat through the interesting first half of this thing to just totally be disgusted by the rest of the movie and the unrealistic end. God this was laaaame.
The Problem Of The Movie Is That U Dont Know What Kind of Movie You're Dealing With Is It Black Comedy? Nope Not Enough Jokes Is It Drama? Nope There's Jokes! But Thornton is As His Best VERY VERY Talented Who ALMOST Saves The Movie
Some of the best fun I've had in a long time, 'Bandits' is a film that the parents will love watching with the kids. The perfect chemistry between Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton gives the film that extra touch that it needed in order for the film to work. Basically two criminals named Joe and Terry (Willis and Bob Thornton), recently arrested, escape from prison (in a cement truck) and discover that the only way to make a living is to be bank robbers. When they team up with a film stuntman named Harvey (Garity) they make a formidable bank robbing team. They go to the bank manager's home the night before the robbery, then the next day they calmly rob the bank without using brute force. The team go extremely well, until they meet a regular housewife named Kate (Blanchett) who adds to the team, but as time goes by Kate falls for both Terry and Joe, causing the two to become more disconnected from each other and may break apart the team known as the infamous 'Sleepover Bandits'. A great ride and a lot of fun; following an exceptional first hour of wicked fun, the second hour seems to be less magical until the end when the film ends on a high note. This is one film that belongs in any collection, otherwise it isn't complete. See this film now!
Great movie, billy bob thornton is hilariously paranoid, bruce willis is a spur of the moment criminal, and Cate is a bit of a desperate house wife, funny combo =]
