    Algo que queda claro al ver Bandits (1997), largometraje de la joven realizadora alemana Katja von Garnier, es su habilidad para el manejo del artificio y haberle sabido imprimir a su película un toque visual videoclipero. Uno juraría que el grupo musical Bandits realmente existe. La trama gira en torno al deseo de cuatro chicas encarceladas por triunfar con su grupo musical llamado, precisamente, las Bandits.

    Emma (la actriz y cantante Katja Riemann), es la intolerante y explosiva líder del grupo, que ofrece conciertos dentro de la prisión junto a sus tres compañeras, Angel (Nicolette Krebitz), Luna (Jasmin Tabatabai) y Marie (Jutta Hoffmann). Emma vive día a día enviando demos a las disqueras, con la esperanza de que alguna se interese en ellas. La aventura de las chicas comienza cuando se les ocurre emprender la fuga camino a dar un concierto.

    En su buena fotografía, vestuario y diseño de producción, así como un score musical atractivo para jovencitas adolescentes, Bandits tendrá sus aspectos rescatables. Donde se ha quedado a medias, es en la historia que intenta contar, y el aspecto musical juega en su contra, al principio disfrutable para luego acabar siendo molesto, ya que eclipsa a nuestras ?heroínas musicales?.

    This is like a cool movie to watch, but its a one time movie. I really liked it. The music in it was get in it.

    This is a gem. Not many German films are released to the US-we just don't seem to care but this is a rare one. Do not bother reading the plot outline on here-it's crap!     this movie has some of the best actresses from germany and is very fun to watch the music they sing will have u humming for hours

    Such a good movie. And I'm not just saying that, because it's German and I might be a wee bit biased that way. But no, eriously, it's really good. I've seen it a bunch of time and liked it better every time. Worth seeing, because it's funny as well as endearing and has some excellent music.

    OH MY GOD! THE LAST TIME I SAW THIS MOVIE, I SAID THIS WAS AWESOME. I AM TRYING TO FIND THIS MOVIE SO THAT I CAN OWN IT. ANYWAY, THIS MOVIE IS A MUST SEE FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T ALREADY.

    Awesome movie, hard to find but a true hidden treasure. A combination of a realistic prison movie and a light road movie, filled with excellent pop music(one oddity, the whole movie is in German, yet most of the songs are sung completely in English)
