The last batman movies seemed to have been adapted from the cartoon shows on WB Kids. This version of Batman however, & let me just say this is the best version, takes on a realism that other comic book movies don't have. Or perhaps it is the fact that the filmmakers weren't targeting child audiences. Whatever the reason, this movie rocks!!!

''Are you ready to begin?''
Like it's title, the beginning truly is the masterpiece. Liam Neeson & Christian Bale show how deep a man with a dark side that needs a destiny can be.posted 24 days ago -
DC Comics was, for a long time, criticized about not starting an Ultimate comics line of their own when Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate X-Men became huge hits. Ironically, however, this movie is everything an Ultimate Batman would have to have been: a perfect distillation of the character's origins and motivations, but set in a contemporary timeline and featuring streamlined continuity (such as the paired-down portrayals of Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow). And yes, I am a massive geek.
Now if only Warner Brothers would follow this example with the rest of the characters in the DCU for their own feature film endeavors!posted 39 days ago -

Not exactly a fan of batman.
Cast was fantastic. Beautiful graphics and effects. Story Plot unspeakable. Two thumbs up.
In fact, never knew his parents was murdered. hahahaposted 210 days ago -
i like this kind of filmmaking stripped and done fromthe ground up. the slap was a bit wierd from rachel. i hope we see ra's al ghul again i get tired of liam neeson cameos and no pay dirt what a tease.

I love this movie=D It's so incredibly gooood:) I like it cause not only is it super cool, has some super cute guys in it and is stunningly beautiful, but also kuz it's pretty realistic. I mean, this guy didn't have to be bitten by some radio-active bug to be a hero:)

This movie is the cat's pajamas! What I don't get is why so many people think that this is a prequel. It's a whole new series. Pay attention folks.

The ultimate live-action portrayal of the Dark Knight. Nolan adds huge depth and intelligence to a franchise that was sorely needing a reinvention after Schumacher. Christian Bale doesn't act the part of Bruce Wayne; he becomes Bruce Wayne and along with Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and the rest of the cast delivers the ultimate Batman film. Bob Kane is smiling now gentlemen.

surley you cant say the movie was poor because of Cillian Murphy!?!? I thought he did a good job, Besides Scarecrow will return in the sequel. He was basicaly introduced into Batman Begins as a small intro. The real villian was Raz AL Ghul (Liam Neeson) Anyway Chris Nolan did a great job with the story of Batman. The thing i like most about this movie is that it focuses most of bruce wayne, the man behind the mask. We get the full story, the how's and why's which led to Bruce and his quest to seek injustice. The fact is tim Burtons version of the dark knight werent giving the story of batman justice, Chirs Nolans version is far superior , And in my opinion, was one of the best movies of 2005.

Yeah, I think one of the reasons I didn't like it as much was because Scary Eyes Murphy and his creepy mask were SCAAAARY and freaked me out a little. (Why do people keep calling him the "scarecrow"? Wasn't he a regular [well, he wasn't too regular, he was a little demented] guy?)

Really cool, dark and powerful, the hallucinations from the gas was awsome. Its a very worthy addition to the dark night series.
