This was one of my faorite films as a kid and I always rember crying most of the way though. Sftre wathcing it a few years later I found that I still cried at some places but not all and also I found that I had forgoted some of the plot form when I was younger like the acutal storyline.

In real life I seem to struggle with age and percieved age with that said this film made it very clear to me that I was beyond my years. I was in the 5th grade when I watched this film and felt a connection to it, while over at a friends house she wanted nothing to do with a film while being cute with little flying saucers was "about old people". I watched it all and loved it. The saucer ijn the hamburger is sooo cute. I love that.

I got this movie for free. If you can get it at that price or just under $5 you will get your money's worth.

This is a mediocre to slightly above average family movie. Should serve you well if you're a parent or babysitter, but otherwise...just make sure not to spend more than $5 on this, or you DEFINITELY will be disappointed.

An imaginative and fun sci-fi film with some of the coolest looking flying saucers ever! The feel good story and simple premise make this an easy film to watch. I can see why I liked it as a kid.

The stars of the show are the small robots. They seem to steal every scene they are in! I would highly recommend this to anyone! (15.3.08)

Wow I saw this long long ago, not sure I can remember everything about it, but it was a cute film. I really liked most of the easy pure entertaining movies that came out during the 80's and early 90's. They were not so heavy and didn't rely on sex to make people come and see them in the theaters. I did remember that I liked this movie when I was younger.

This is a tough movie to review, because it's so strange. It's too silly for many adults to enjoy, but deals with too much mature subject matter to be a kid's movie.

captured the imagination. used to watch it as a kid and just recently (about 5 minutes ago) seen it all again. jessica tandy was top notch playing the senile old woman convinced the local thug was her dead son. amusing original idea for kids and family viewing. it goes as regular as to be expected. the heartening good ending. the hopeful and needy are never let down. great for when you're young and continues to hold its own when you grow up and a bit distant from these kinda ideas

I adored this as a little girl. To me this is one of the most under rated 80s childrens films. Just watch it and see if you dont find yourself smiling at the nostalgic feelings it brings up in you.

A sci-fi film with such an original story for its time. Heck, it still is an original story.

The movie takes a while to get going. You don't get to see the mechanical aliens for a good half hour or so, but before that time you get some good character development and a good understanding of the story. You actually start to feel for the characters as everything in their lives has hit rock bottom. Low and behold, their lives are enhanced by these little mechanical lifeforms. I know it sounds a little corny, but the story actually plays out pretty well.

The lifeforms are adorable and many people will fall in love with them. What this film also does well is focus on the sounds. Not only do the robots look cute, with some good CG for its time, but the sound effects used for the robots are also done well, making for a great all around experience. The only real disappointment about them is that there is no real background as to what they are or where they came from.

The acting is also pretty good. It is nice to see some earlier roles from the likes of Elizabeth Pena and Dennis Boutsikaris. Michael Carmine does a nice job as Carlos and Jessica Tandy does a good senile Faye.

This film may be a little slow for some people, but those that are looking for a nice sci-fi drama, look no further. This is a great film for all ages, but be warned since there is a little bit of swearing. Nothing really to worry about though.

This is without a doubt one of the cutest movies. You just fall in love with those little space ships. Of course, Jessica Tandy did an excellent job. Even younger children (grade school age) would enjoy this one. The few bad guys get theirs.

This movie has that magical feeling that you may also feel from movies like E.T. or Cocoon! Old people can be so adorable. Tiny living UFO's can be too.

I make jokes about this movie all the time but it's actually a pretty sweet and heartwarming 80s movie.

It was a very interesting story as because it actually has a moral but it hides the moral in the funny parts such as when the 'plates' made everything back to normal again.
