"Get Shorty" was a very cool movie but this sequel is nothing compared to it. Although the movie has a lot of talent in it, it fails to entertain you.
I think "Be Cool" is very boring and the only positive things in it are suprisingly some of the scenes where The Rock and Andre Benjamin appear. And I'm not even a fan of them. Vince Vaughn is... well Vince Vaughn. You either love him or hate him.
I recommend the film to those who want to see Uma Thurman in her bikini... And see Vince Vaughn dance like MC Hammer.
I thought this movie was a ton of fun. A lot of people dispise it, but I loved the characters and other than a shotty ending it was a really good film.
I like this movie!! it's very funny! i don't care what every body else think about it!.. i like it!. Funny, complex, got good actors, even Aerosmith its on it! and ...' The Rock acting as a Samoan 's gay guy?!!!, come on!! where else are u going to see something like this!!..
OMG! it was so boring, i could hardly watch it. and it was very confusing at the end. even though "the rock" is in it, im NEVER gonna watch this movie again!! this is the lowest grade i have ever given a movie.
There were too many things happening at once that it was hard to keep track of the "plot" if that's what you want to call it. It would be hard to top Get Shorty, but this didn't even come close.
Al principio crei que este filme era una super mega basura pero al final solo quede con basura; en realidad este filme no es tan malo, claro hay que quitar a John Travolta y Uma Thurman que a pesar de ser un duo dinamico (ya no tan dinámico) son muy malos en esta ocasion.
Por el contrario tenemos a Cedric The Entertainer, Vince Vaughn y Dwayne Johnson quienes son los que roban toda la pantalla para dejar ver ese humor americano retorcido pero que funciona.

Very disappointing is the best way to describe Be Cool. Had this been a standalone film and not the follow up to Get Shorty I might have viewed it differently. There are just too many scenes that I felt like I had already watched in Get Shorty. For example early in the movie Chili needs a hire car, he requests a Cadillac and is presented with the Cadillac of hybrids. In Get Shorty it was the Cadillac of mini vans. One of the many memorable scenes from Pulp Fiction was John Travolta and Uma Thurman dancing, this also has the two of them dancing. Why? I can only think that they were trying too hard to make this film cool but had a lack of original ideas. Watch Get Shorty and avoid Be Cool.
Having not seen "Get Shorty" I have nothing to compare this to and be dissapointed for it not living up to it and as such I enjoyed it. It's not an amazing film, it's barely even a good film, but it's certainly mildly enjoyable for some great performances from an all-star cast and the odd genuinely funny moment.
I'm sure that if I had seen the first film, I'd be alot more hostile towards this like most people are, but as it stands, I liked it (a bit).

Be Cool was an amazing Elmore Leonard novel. Too bad the movie adaption was terrible. I loved Get Shorty, but Be Cool was just a failure. If your a fan of Get Shorty then I recommend NOT seeing this movie.
Aside from that, it's nowhere near as great as Get Shorty.... The actual story is a distraction at best but some pf the characters are good fun. It's pretty much a rehash of the first film with all of the same kind of set ups and double crosses. It's fun to watch but it's exactly the same and as such it's incredibly lazy.
Uma is wasted in a pretty thankless role along with Christina Milian, quite what she is doing in this is beyond me. JT is dependable as always but it does feel like he's phoning it in a little. He's still totally watchable though. It;s the bad guys that make this a fun watch for me. Vince is fun, Harvey gets props just for being on screen and I really liked Cedric in this. Very funny dude, no doubt about it. I definately missed the presence of Gene Hackman and Dennis Farina, but you can't have everything I guess. Not even The Rock can fill that gap I'm afraid....
Undemanding and easy to watch, there is nothing wrong with this aside from it being a lazy rehash of the first flick....
wow i have not seen this movie in ages but i thought that this was a brilliantly funny movie 2 watch...the director of this movie has made pop videos for sisquo (he directed the thong song music video for him) n he has made some other movies/pop/music viedeos but i cannot remember which he has made...the director of this Mystery & Suspense, Comedy movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout because this is a really good movie...imn not sure which is better this or the 1st 1 which is get shorty - 1 of the cult 1990's movies ever been made...the rock or vince vaughan both steal this whole movie because they are really funny actors throughout this movie...this has a good cast of actors/actressess throughout this movie.
Well, the film is stupid and not very cool. Even Aerosmith will be much better without Linda. But they rock, because of them that's 4 for me and not 2. Steven is awesome in his part.
Entertaining movie. Filled with celebrity...doesn't keep you entertained the whole way. though. Something missing. John Travolta plays a great role, the rest of the acting is quite a let down.

The coolest movie in years. Total complete fun from start to finish. A great all-star cast. John Travolta has never been better. The Rock steals the show. Vince Vaughn, Cedric The Entertainer and Andre Benjamin are hilarious. Packs plenty of outragious laughs and explosive action.
This movie is good a guy that thinks he run's everything and learns different when a gurl he has working for him and bringing in all the money goes to work with some other guy he doesnt know what to do.

I love this movie. It's not what I would call good, but there's something about it, that I really like. An amazing cast for one, with several cool and funny characters. Travolta is the King of Cool once again, Christina Milian is as hot as humanly possible, and Vince Vaughn, The Rock, Cedric the Entertainer and Dabu provides the laughs. Many good jokes and spot on comments. This is the sequel for Get Shorty, which you should see first to get some more insight into Travolta's character. Either way, it's a real enjoyable movie.

Please do NOT get me started on how much i hate this movie. It it probably the worst movie i have ever watched. Unbearable at MANY times. I wanted to throw myself out of the window.
