Wicked songs. My Favourites are 'Gaston' and 'Beauty And The Beast'. It is probably the best Disney animated film of all time. It became the first and only animated film ever to have been nominated Best Picture for the Academy Awards. Love the characters particularly Beast's servants in the castle like Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip and Wardrobe. This film proves that it is better that someone should love a person for who they are rather than appearance, whereas other people would look for both personality and looks. I have watched this film hundreds of times. I loved it when I was a little kid. It is unique that the Beast is a mean, vile piece of work at the start but then he becomes a gentle, warm-hearted person in the end. Gaston is a cool Disney villain because he wants power over the town by marrying the most beautiful girl in the town. And also when he does something bad or wrong he ends up hitting his little sidekick LeFou because he is a bit of an idiot and he is alot smaller than Gaston is. LeFou reminds me alot of Smee from Peter Pan.

Trousedale directs this lavish animated take on the ancient story, Beauty and the Beast, where Belle, the lovely girl, befriends a strange brute who hides in a castle, but an evil mob is after them. One of the great movies of the earlier 1990s, especially for the score. The enchanted furniture was kind of silly, but it is a cartoon. Disney makes it much more palatable than the series that had recently carried the same name, and had nothing to do with it.

It is a beautiful movie and a classic. It is about a princess (part of the Disney princesses collection) who changes a beast who has a grudge (a witch turned him into a beast because he was proud) against humans. They love each other, and u know the ending.....

It's the only animated film ever to be nominated for an Academy Award for overall best picture of the year? Go figure.

I've been in love with this movie since I was 5. It's the first movie I remember going to see in the theaters. When it came out on video, I used to watch it every day after school.

definitely near the top of my "childhood favorites" list. watching later on gives me a much greater appreciation for how good it really is. classic story, memorable songs, fun characters, superb animation, surprising cinematography (animated crane shot during "beauty and the beast"? yeah, that's right). good stuff, man.

The Lion King is the BEST classic but this is my favourite next to the Little Mermaid...which has got to be here somewhere :P

This movie teaches young children that fat ugly guys get hot chicks. This is never true and the fat kids that watch this are going to grow up with high expectations and live in sadness. Also, that the characters were changed into other things is obviously a reference to drug addiction

Belle is such a wonderful character and it says a lot that this is the only animation picture to get a Best Picture nomination

I like a couple of songs in this movie, "Be Our Guest" has some great animation, and "Gaston" has hilarious lyrics. Other than that, I don't care for the Beast. Too weird.

A nice little story about a woman falling for a beast. The cast was nice and some parts were good. But the animation could of been more and parts left me bored.

One of the most fascinating and magical Disney classics ever brought to the big screen and that ever conquered our hearts.

Disney isn't my cup of tea, but I like the story of the beauty and the beast too much to let the singing and dancing objects destroy the movie.
