  The nineties were seemingly owned by the youth of the country. Grunge was still influencing dress by the mid-nineties, MTV was ruler of all, and Melrose Place was the dopey soap that was everyone's guilty pleasure. As a child of the nineties and not a teenager, I only got to observe the culture of that time. One prevalent show that dominated discussion at that time was Beavis and Butt-head; about two fourteen year olds in Albuquerque, New Mexico who never go to school, can't score, and grunt inaudibly between their sentences. I never watched the show or was an avid fan before I saw this film, but my expectations were met and exceeded. Not only are these two characters not contributing to the violence and idiocy of a nation, they are actually used to make fun of the teenagers they were chiefly watched by. Beavis and Butt-head as characters aren't too interesting, as they use the same sample of dialogue throughout and usually don't do anything but bitch and whine. It's more about the shenanigans they get into and the way characters around them interact that makes for an engrossing road trip movie. There is an entire cast of newly commissioned characters in this film, which means some truly amazing cameos from Chloris Leachman, Robert Stack, and former couple Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. Those two in particular give some truly steamy performances as exes who hunt each other down for a terrorist weapon. Most of the film involves the dunce duo's ignorance to their role in a nationwide conspiracy to kill a plethora of people. As anti-heroes the boys work because they are young enough to be unaware of how the world actually works while also ruining everything they touch and constantly getting into trouble while not caring about other's safety. They are ape-like and yet in the same vein you watch with rapt attention as they vandalize through yet another landmark, destroy the lives of yet another multitude of people, and still don't understand the basis for their behavior. I could write an in detail research paper on the motives behind these two characters, but they simply don't make up the bulk of the film. Much of the humor comes from satire and black comedy, more so than the gross out humor I was expecting. It's actually a quite clever and goofy film, and anyone can really enjoy it. Perhaps the allure is the simplicity of the world that these two inhabit, or the epicness of their destruction and maleficence, littering the path behind them. There is even a couple that gets the brunt of abuse for their follies while doing nothing themselves, showing in just another instance that Beavis and Butt-head are the protagonists after all. Though this film doesn't make me want to see the series, if you haven't either, it's not a deterrent. Many of the characters from the series apparently don't show up, and new problems and turmoil appear. It's just truly juvenile, anarchic, and idiotic fun that caters to different generations and makes them all belly laugh in turn.

  Beavis and Butt-Head Do America is a film adaption of one of my favorite TV comedies of all time, and I can honestly say this is one of the funniest movies of all time just in my opinion. The story is just our teen horny teens going on a cross country trip trying to score, when really they are being tracked by the FBI after have been dragged into a murder plot, and they do not even realize it, they just care about scoring. The plot is in a way, a work if genius, its just 80 minutes of the two retarded horny teens not even realizing whats going on, I just loved every minute. The voice cast is great, Mike Judge plays two of some of the funniest voices ever, and Bruce Willia and Demi Moore do nice voice acting too, even if their characters weren't given much to do. The comedy is the same it has ever been, just sex and toilet jokes, but these two make it just sound genius. I loved this movie, and any person in their right mind would as well.

  Beavis and Butt-Head don't tell the most hilarious jokes, but it is their delivery and stupidity that make them funny and lovable. This film doesn't fall short of their originality and is even an improvement from the show. "TP for my bunghole!"

  Man, do I miss the 90's! That golden era of comedy when The Simpsons was still funny, sitcoms didn't require recorded laughings and Mike Judge brought us hilarious stuff like this. It's the third time I've seen it, if I remember correctly, and it just keeps getting funnier for every time. Beavis and Butthead, in all their stupidity, are the creation of a true comedic genius. There's so many side-splitting moments in this film that I wouldn't know where to begin. I think my favourites though is when Beavis goes into "Cornholio mode", after taking one too many caffeine pills from an old lady. Or every time they mess with Tom Anderson and his wife. Great voice-acting as well, by a cast that include big names like Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. There's even a cameo by David Letterman as a Mötley Crüe roadie. I mean, how cool is that? Anyway, if you have ever been a fan of these two legendary dopeheads, then this is definitely something you should add to your watchlist. It's raunchy, it's out there, but above all, outrageously funny!

  Mike Judge adapts his hot TV show to the big screen with very successful results. I use to follow the show, and I really did like it, this adaptation by the shows creator is one great comedy film. After their TV is stolen, Beavis & Butthead try to find their TV, but instead get involved into a lot of trouble. They get used as pawns by arms smugglers and they get chased across the country by an ATF agent (Robert Stack) who is obsessed with giving every suspect he encounter a body cavity search. The film is along with Office Space, Mike Judge's best film. The jokes are terrific, and the script is well written. Who knew that a TV show would make a great film? Beavis & Butthead is a terrific small screen to big screen transition, and its the perfect example on how to properly do a film based on a TV show. Mike Judge is a terrific director, and he crafts one of the best animated comedies I've ever seen. Theres a colorful cast of actors that give their voice talents aside from Robert Stack. Greg Kineer, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Clris Leechman are all terrific and each one makes this film something truly unique. Do America is a well made comedy with lots of laughs as we see these two dimwitted teens tryo to find their TV and go on the adventure of a lifetime in the process.

  While not his best, Mike Judge's film debut is still an awesome ride, and a quite entertaining and hilarious one at that. It was awesome to see MTV's infamous moron duo on the big screen, and the movie certainly doesn't disappoint. That some critics actually "got" it, and gave it good marks makes me happy, and it shows that the program and the movie weren't devoid of substance or wit that could be appreciated by a wide audience. From the Isaac Hayes tuned-blaxploitation tribute opening credits to the final shot which salutes classic westerns and samurai films, this movie looks great, and earns all the nods it makes. The story is relatively simple, and so is the solution, but that's not the point. The Duo's precious TV gets stolen, but the destonation doesn't matter compared to the journey. Their cross country trip happens more or less out of ridiculous circumstance and miscommunication, but that's all part of the character development, and the sly satire of American culture and it's youth that Mike Judge does such a good job of bringing to life. King of the Hill was much better as this kind of witty and intellgient stuff, but this definitely laid the ground work, and made his later brilliant stuff (especially Office Space) possible. The normal vocie cast are excellent as usual, and the famous celebrity voices joining them are both awesome and give good performances as well. The soundtrack isn't quite excellent, but it sure comes close. Because of this damn movie, I am unable to not enjoy "Lesbian Seagull", even if Englebert Humperdink is an artist I don't really care (much) for. I think this is just as awesome and hilarious now as I thought it was back when it first came out. I'm surprised how well it holds up. I hope it stays that way for a long time to come. I'm torn on a specific rating, so let's just say B+ to (very slight, as in almost but not quite) A-.

  "Beavis & Butt-Head Do America" is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Someone steals B & B's TV set, so they have to go look for one. On their way, a man gives them another assignment. Beavis & Butt-Head misunderstand him and agree to do what he tells them to do. That's when the hilarious adventure begins. If you're a fan of Beavis & Butt-Head and you used to watch the TV show, this is one movie you gotta have. Even if you haven't ever watched their show, this is a good movie to see if you like comedies. It's a classic in my book. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2000. I grew to love the cartoon series in my teenage years and still love watching them, and find this movie to be a great overall adaptation of the show.

I never got to watch much Beavis and Butt-Head when I was younger, but when this movie came out, my dad and I, who were both inexperienced with the activities of these two, saw the movie and laughed hysterically. It takes these two idiot slacker kids and throws them into the middle of a crazy thriller plot involving a deadly disease, FBI, and criminal masterminds. Agent Fleming: Agent Hurley, I want you to give this scumbag a cavity search! I'm talking Roto-Rooter! Don't stop until you reach the back of his teeth! When the one thing Beavis and Butthead love so much, TV, is taken from them, they set out to find it, and stumble onto the thriller plot mentioned above, prompting a country-wide search for these kids. Hilarity ensues. Creator Mike Jude goes from TV to the big screen with these characters, and certainly gives them an epic send out, taking them all over the country, accompanied by a kick as rock soundtrack, a sweet 70s style opening, and the use of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore to make the film even more classy. This is a very funny movie, and very well done in terms of taking it from the small to the big screen. Beavis: Dammit! This always happens! I think I'm gonna score, and then I never score! It's not fair! We traveled um, a mil-... a hundred miles, just because we thought we were gonna score! But now it's not gonna happen! Dammit! Bus Driver: Hey, buddy! Sit down! Beavis: Shut up, ass-wipe! I'm sick and tured of this! We're never gonna score! We're probably gonna get old like these people, but they've probably scored! Bus Driver: Hey! I'm warning you! Sit down! Beavis: [motioning to Martha] It's like this chick's a slut... and look at this guy! He's old, but he's probably scored a million times...! Old Guy: [nodding] Oh, yeah. Beavis: But not us!   "beavis and butt-head do america" might be one of the most iconic movies which represent the 90s iconclast slacker subculture among the youth of generation x who celebrates the brazen apathy on addictive distractions on riotic rock music and prefering things that are "cool"... it parodies on pop cultures, such as the outset sequence of king-kong and "starsky & hutch"...it also mocks americanism by degrading its patriotic enthusiast (the vetern southerer whose van they're "whacking" at...ha.) into the lethal terrorist while he's paying respect to lincoln's portrait in white house, same as the caricature of fbi lead who demands "full capital search" upon every possible national-threat suspect, and the policeowman who helps to perform that with her plastic glove. lol. a comical contempt to the pseudo maccathyism fanatic. it sneers at education, government institution and nationalism, and it dismisses the 60s misanthropic student activities by its comment on the teacher of beavis and butthead as "what a dork" while he's lecturing on the spirituality they might regain by the void of tv. then the teacher gets arrested and assaulted by fbi while he's playing guitar and singing "lesbian seagull"..ha. that means you 60s idealists or 70s ecologist hippies, your government disregards you despite whatever activist passion you might have. the odyssey of beavis and butthead is just a tv-quest which threads their whole life which is being lazy on the couch, humming a bunch of rock tunes, pretending they could play rock instruments, fancying how they could "score" some chics, shamelessly cheering for their never-do-well life philosophy if they have any brain to think of it as philosophy. it unrelentingly panders the audience's pleasure on adolescent indulgement which is criticizing everything without self-reflection even themselves are the worst degenerates. btw, it also introduces the tales of how beavis and butthead's birth: two former mutley crue roadie geeks whack up to semen donation while daydreaming they seperately score two "slots". ha.
