Behind the Mask
As Monogram films go, Behind the Mask is practically an A picture, with above-average production values and a limitless supply of top character actors. Kane Richmond stars as wealthy young man about town Lamont Cranston, who (as anyone who listened to a radio in 1946 already knew) doubles as The Shadow, the mysterious crime fighter with the hypnotic ability to cloud men's minds so they can't see him. The mind-clouding in this picture isn't as elaborate as the special-effects wizardry in the 1994 Alec Baldwin version of The Shadow, but it's pretty convincing all the same. But… More
