Being Julia is a smartly written movie about an actress and her way threw her relations in middle age. To start talking i'll begin with the best thing in this movie which is Annette Bening's AMAZING performence! Even if you don't like watching this kind of movies, watching annett...( read more)e bening acting here is a feast for every moviegoer. She wasn't even acting, she was so natural you forget you are watching a movie and feel that you're sitting with her. And the last theatre scene she was marvellous. As for the screenplay, it was fairly written. You feel the developement of julia's character throughout the movie and the ending is really surprising and the character of julia was one of the best ever written.

    Bening casually commands on-/off-stage drama.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic for some sexuality.

Being Julia" was a delightful story about theatrical life, manipulation, love and revenge. Annette Bening was a...( read more)dorable in the role of Julia, a veteran actress that shines on stage. She fell in love with a guy younger then her, he used her, and she swore revenge. The end was wonderful and that made a difference. The music was also very beautiful and as always I love the acting of Jeremy Irons. Beautiful movie.

What a woman. She lived her life the way she wanted and did surprise me in the end. Loved her son and her older lover who really did care.

The morality and character development of this play were so bizarre and ambiguous. It was as if we were supposed to cheer for Julia when she behaved like a spoiled bitch. That aside, I enjoyed the first half more than the last. It was refreshing and delightful to see cougar Be...( read more)nning romping with young boys.

This was okay. Not much of a story to it really, though. Wouldn't want to watch it again.

"Your only reality is the theater. Anything else, what civilians call the real world, is nothing but fantasy and I bloody well won't let you forget it."

Good film. I thought Annette Bening gave a brilliant performance, and it was just generally enjoyable.

In retrospect, Bening should not have lost the Oscar to that dude. Film has no 2nd act, but Bening's charismatic performance keeps you interested from start to finish.
