I think I would have enjoyed this movie a little bit better if I hadn't felt like I was being preached at. Not really into story's made to fit into social agendas.

Whoever thinks for a second that this is just another propaganda, Christian, anti-abortion movie is absolutely missing the point.

As one of the most atheist, most psycho pro-abortion dudes out there, I truly loved it to death.

    Beautiful, beautiful movie.

I really liked the movie except for the ending. I am led to believe that he adopted the baby and she disappeared from his life for a few years until meeting at the beach? It just didn't add up.

After having dinner with Jose's family Nina asks, "Is it always like that? Did you grow up with that?" "With what?" asks Jose.

    "Joy. Love."

That joy and love was palpable through every minute of this sad and touching story, written and played very well.

Sweet, feel good movie that leaves you with a satisfied feeling. "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." Recommended.

The huge gap that separates the amount of praise this has received from audiences (Toronto Film Festival Viewers, theatergoers, "Flixter Users") and the negative reviews it received from critics has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that in this movie, a woman is talked out of getti...( read more)ng an abortion. Those liberal critics need to look themselves in the mirror and really ask themselves why the hell they're so passionate about women killing their unborn children. Really liberals....really.

As both a Latino and a person of faith, I really really love how this film portrays...people. It has such a great message about the importance of family, and redemption, and learning to appreciate life that I really just felt so much better about everthing after watching it.

Once you learn the tone of the film, and the personality of the characters, you pretty much know how this movie is going to end. But that didn't really matter to me. Why not make a movie about truly good-hearted people trying to do the right thing under difficult circumstances? Isn't that what life should be about?

Anyways...this movie didn't really feel much like a movie, or a compelling film-story. It kind of felt like a nice hug. That's the best way I can describe it. And that's a good thing. It pulls at your heart and gives a wonderful message without overdoing it, unlike some of those "made for Christians" movies out there, like "Fireproof," which preaches and smothers your face with its message. "Bella" is something much more real, much more beautiful, and I think it's guaranteed to make its viewers appreciate life a little bit more than they did before.

This movie had the potential to be 5 stars and it was a very good storyline, but it was hard to tell what was going on time wise. It definitely need a "5 years later" flash on the bottom. I was a little disappointed with the ending in that it was slightly vague. I would still d...( read more)efinitely recommend.

Rather elegantly filmed story. Nothing too deep to haunt you but a touching story that held me captive. A nice break from all the art film fests i find myself in.

A beautiful story that's not perfect but is still positive and uplifting despite tragedies. Eduardo Verastegui is good without being too over the top. The brothers' characters are a little too fanciful but I can overlook that to enjoy the heart of the story. Tammy Blanchard di...( read more)d a good job as well.
