one of my favourite karate competition films.

A solid picture, to be sure. However, I prefer the second, as it is a straight-ahead bad action movie, whereas this one aspires to be an inspirational sports film, all about the importance of teamwork, competition, yadda yadda... The performances from Penn and Roberts are passabl...( read more)e, while Phillip and Simon Rhee handle the fighting aspect in good measure.

Philip Rhee is such a joy to watch. He really is an awesome TKD master. I'm corny and got all teary eyed at the end, although I've seen this movie like 4 or 5 times.

One of the best mindless martial arts movies I've ever seen. Everyone was awesome in this. Eric Roberts was a badass at the end where he kept going even though he was hurt.
Phillip Rhee is phenomenal and never made it to stardom for some reason.

Eric Roberts and Phillip Rhee should have won Oscars. Sean Penn's fat brother is great as the b.a. cowboy. Who knew that James Earl Jones could pass as a karate expert? This film is amazing and heart-warming. Check it out tonight.
