I love this movie also john cusack is the best
savage steve holland should make more films ... because this happens to be one of the funniest films out there
I've L-O-V-E-D this movie since I was a kid in the 80's!
John Cusak rocks!
One of John Cusack's best to date! Very cute movie! I want my 2 dollars my 2 dolllars!! Great 80's classic! Sweet Bad Ass Camaro he has in this movie too! I love '69 Camaros! Black is soo badass!
The film is hilarious, and it's characters wonderfully off-beat with perfect dark humor, I just wish the quirkyness of it all had gone to a better formed story or more rootable characters. Still, John Cusack is as amazing as he has always been.
I could not love this movie more. There are so many great characters, and true to life situations. If you've ever gone through a break-up you'll relate to the cold nature of an ex, the new boyfriend, and little things like only hearing break-up songs on the radio. Amanda Wyss is ...( read more)
the premiere 80s movie. a complete masterpiece of corny bizarre and sappy occurences. "2 dollars!"
Funniest line in a movie ever:"Such a shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that." I can't believe John Cusack feels this is one of the worst movies he ever made and regrets doing it! This one defines dark comedy, but the comedy way outweighs the depressing tone.
this movie starts to get good when the super-cute French girl starts talking. Savage Steve Holland's satirical sense of humor takes some time to get used to, but it is clever. this is def an 80's classic.
Probably the best teen angst movie made where no one takes (real) drugs. Loved the soundtrack
Classic 80s flick, so just "mellow off." I mean why shouldn't you get 5-stars when you mix claymation, Van Halen, and flipping burgers? It doesn't get any better than that!
One of my favorite teen angst movies... story of a fellow loser who wins in the end... I WANT MY 2 DOLLARS!!!
it was.........interesting.
I think the only funny parts involved the chunky boy and his moms, lol.
This is admittedly light for a dark comedy. Still, a movie that centers around a teenager unsuccessfully trying to kill himself is dark. More proof that John Cusack is a comic genius. This is the only movie that was made before the 1990's. I think it was the mid-80's. There are r...( read more)

I seam to remember liking this, but I cant remember, I probably saw it in 1985
A surreal and cynical masterpiece. "Gee, Ricky. Sorry your mom blew up."
I senselessly love this movie. Quite possibly the best thing to come out of the '80s! :-)
