A true french masterpiece, like I've said many times before insanity is gold in film. Bettys fall from a beautiful confident woman to a self mutilating lesser version of herself is heartbreaking to watch, throw in an unconventional love story and there's you masterpiece people.

Oh, this is one infamous film. To me it is not so much about love, but obsession, and at it's end it leaves nothing but an expression of cynical nihilism. This was more sad to me than the self-destructive characters peopling the created world.

Unbelievably grim but archetypal doomed romance movie that reeks of French arthouse. Beautiful to look at, and Beatrice Dalle is both captivating and heartbreaking as the deeply troubled Betty.

wow! both the main actor and actress deserved an award for outstanding performance.. they really make this movie comes alive.. although the story was kinda crazy, I was totally attracted with the performance towards the end of it.. definitely deserved an oscar!
