Critic Reviews

  • Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times

"Beware the Gonzo" isn't bad, it's just that for a film aiming to celebrate media rebellion it feels timid and unadventurous.

  • Kyle Smith, New York Post

"Beware the Gonzo" is a thoroughly amateurish effort at capturing clued-in and smartass teens.

  • Stephen Holden, New York Times

With its stacked moral deck, student stereotypes and false, halfhearted ending, "Beware the Gonzo" is really formula straining at the seams to be more.

  • Eric Hynes, Time Out New York

Creates a recognizably adolescent milieu that's also a workable metaphor for the anxieties of the 21st-century press corps.

  • Melissa Anderson, Village Voice

    Too cute by half.

The premise is quite intriguing and Ezra Miller is really good. BEWARE THE GONZO, wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. But, it is still worth a look.
