Ainda que não seja o melhor da série, vale a pena ser assistido por ser um filme de terror peculiarmente diferente de todos os outros de sua época.
Para um filme dos 00's, esse é um filme de terror inteligente, interessante e com personagens que passam boa parte de seu tempo em cena vivos.
Ainda prefiro o primeiro, é claro, mas esta é uma sequência digna.
E viva a ciência (mesmo quando maluca). -

This was awesome. It had half of a mexican gangster, a drug addict who shoots up the re-agent and a prison warden who turns into a half rat and gets his penis bitten off and stolen by other rats. Great stuff.

MCT:February 20, 2008Very weak story. Hot chicks running around a prison!? I nearly fell of my seat when Elsa Pataky's character (short skirt and open toe espadrilles, she's got terrific toes) was allowed to walk out into the prison yard with all the inmates.Then later dressed in a low cut black outfit with fishnets, high heels and black teddy with garter underneath.
I was hoping to see her tits a bit better than what they showed but at 37:06 you see a nice shot, a little dark but ok.
The prison's nurse was laughable. Dressed in a low cut, see-thru outfit with thigh high black stockings and no bra. She was wearing some big ass panties though. How did the costume designers screw that up!?
I knew the flick wouldn't have ended without showing her boobs as it predictably did.
This could have been a great horror/porn flick.
The blood and gore make-up looked pathetic. The CGI used was very choppy looking. The end of the movie was very stupid in regards to the Re-animates, especially the drug user turned inside out and clamoring for more re-agent. Who's stupid idea, in the production team, was that!?
A living severed penis duking it out with a rat. The producers must have been having a blast at the table when thinking up this shit. A short documentary behind the scenes of those meetings would have been a trip. -

This film has made the franchise into what the Simpsons have become on TV: Stupid. What used to be witty and subversive is now just dumb jokes. I know everyone gets a kick out of a certain "fight" scene, and I maybe would've laughed if it wasn't Re-animator, but I consider it the nail in the coffin for the series. A cheap looking, shoddily put together cash in.

MCT:September 17, 2007A high budget (well in comparison to the first two) sequel that feels nothing like a Re-Animator film. Badly paced and pretty awful effects contribute to the easily worst entry into the series. Although the end credits scene does give far more amusement than it should.

MCT:September 14, 2007This is proof that making a B movie that's good isn't as easy as you would think, and this turd of a movie is proof of how wrong it can become. The original was great, entertaining and funny to the end, it was a real treat to watch. This however, was misguided, boring, badly acted, the sound didn't even synchcronise with the actors' lips. It's a movie that makes you wish you'd put your 90 minutes to more productive use by doing something slightly more exciting, like watching snails age.

Although obviously low-budget, it was a good story, had reasonable amounts of gore, good actors and sexy actresses, but it just had the wrong pace and tried hard for humour when it should have gone for scares. Herbert West himself could not raise this movie from the dead.

This is the third best movie in the re-animator series. Wait, there's only three films? Then maybe that isn't such a great honor. Still, it's gory, stupid fun. Stay through the credits for a weird surprise.

Holy shit this movie is awesome. Far superior to the first sequal ("Bride of Re-Animator") and more comic than the other two combined. Jeffery Combs is still in to shape as Herbert West.

After thirteen years in a prison ruled by a very mean director, Dr. Herbert West (Jeffrey Combs) is invited to be the assistant of the new-comer Dr. Howard Phillips (Jason Barry), a brilliant resident, in the penitentiary infirmary. After being introduced to each other, Dr. Phillips discloses that the last experiment of Dr. West killed his sister thirteen years ago, when he was a boy, and he became fascinated with the possibility of bringing dead people back to life. The journalist Laura Olney (Elsa Pataky), who is covering a matter for her newspaper in the prison, has an affair with Dr. Phillips, and they fall in love for each other. However, the experience of Dr. West looses control and the place becomes a branch of hell.

An unfortunate slide in quality, but it's a Re-Animator movie, the DVD has the most hilarious music video ever and a rat fights a sentient severed penis. A SENTIENT SEVERED PENIS!
