This was so much of a blatant ripoff of "The Exorcist" that Warner Bros. took legal action against it. It has the same pea-soup, spinning heads and creepy voices. It even has the audacity to use big chunks of "Rosemary's Baby" for the plot as well. Minor amusement can be gained f...( read more)rom the fact that Satan is the narrator but this isn't a very good film.

Excruciatingly slow Italian knock-off of The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby with underwhelming results.

    Beyond The Door (1974)
Witten and Directed by Ovidio G. Assonitis
With Juliet Mills and Robert Johnson.

A woman becomes pregnant with the Devil's spawn and goes through all of the standard 'The Exorcist' symptoms of one possessed by a demon. A satanist is assigned to find her and deliver the devil's baby, while both she and her husband wonder what the hell is up with the feces backing up out of her mouth.

There are some memorable scenes, such as her children's dolls coming to life with green, glowing eyes, and her satisfying a hellish pregnancy craving by picking up a rotten banana peel off of a filthy city street and devouring it.

The piece has a reasonably clever and memorable ending for a movie that is mostly a derivative, slow talky. Another classic pick for the fans of odd, low budget '70's movies.

I saw this once as a kid & it terrified me for some reason. After a recent viewing, its just a slow, wandering, terrible 70s rip-off of THE EXORCIST.

This Italian Exorcist rip-off is chock full of stupid situations and awful dialogue. But the scenes were it deals with the fully possessed Juliet Mills is actually pretty damn creepy. Its odd how those scenes can be so damn effective yet the shit surrounding it is pretty laughabl...( read more)e.
This one has one of my all time favorite scores by Franco Micalizzi. The theme Bargin With The Devil is ultra fucking cool, and is always in constant listening rotation in my collection. In fact the score is one of those perfect scores from begining to end.
